PGIMS Rohtak staff launch stir on common cadre move
Rohtak, June 15 Faculty members, nurses and non-teaching employees of the PGIMS-Rohtak have launched a joint protest against the government move to club the services|administration of the state''s medical colleges and create a common cadre of medical teachers and other staffers. All employees will wear black badges from tomorrow, take out a joint protest march and submit a memorandum of their demands to the VC of Pt Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Thursday. These decisions were taken at a general body meeting of the Haryana State Medical Teachers'' Association (HSMTA) held on the premises of the PGIMS this afternoon. "The association has decided to take legal recourse in case the move to create a common cadre is not withdrawn. The opinion of legal experts will be sought in this regard," Dr Varun Arora, secretary, HSMTA, said after the meet. Office-bearers and representatives of the HSMTA, nursing association and UHS non-teaching employees'' union resolved to strike work if the move was not scrapped within a week.
