PH reports over 4,000 new Covid-19 cases
DOH The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed 4,182 fresh Covid-19 cases on Sunday, Aug. 14. Based on its Covid-19 tracker, the DOH now recorded a total of 40,016 active infections across the country. Metro Manila still leads among the country’s regions with the most number of infections in the last 14 days at 15,767 cases. It was followed by Calabarzon with 10,044, Central Luzon with 5,265, Western Visayas with 2,821, and Cagayan Valley with 2,252. Hospital utilization remains under low-risk classification as the bed occupancy is still at 29.9 percent. The DOH data showed that 20,344 beds for Covid-19 patients are still vacant, while 8,672 are occupied. The running total of Covid-19 cases in the Philippines stood at 3,831,941, wherein 3,730,889 people have recovered, while 61,036 died.
