Not trying to be xenophobic or anything but this has to be one of the best anime's I've watched this year. Simply because of the unfiltered way it portrays the bad issues of America. To be honest this isn't the anime I'm meant to be reviewing today, it's meant to be [The Angel's of Death](1https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJzj4tVP1zc0zDDOzTYwMzM2YPTiT8xLT80pVshPU0hJTSzJAACSfQmg&q=angels+of+death&oq=Angels+of+&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0i512j46i512j0i512l3j46i512j0i512l8.6473j0j7&client=ms-android-vivo-rvo2&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8) (which is dope btw), yet I've decided to rewatch that anime so as to better understand it and bring a much more satisfiable review🙂 Thus today we would be talking about... ## <center>Banana Fish 🍌🐟</center> ### Plot > Banana Fish, a potent war drug that causes insanity is on the verge of coming into gang leader Dino Galzines hands. Street Gang leader Ash Lynx gets thrown into the middle of this conspiracy with Japanese Photographer Eiji Okomura who becomes his closest ally. Together this unlikely pair works to bring the drug to light and unveil the dark secrets hidden in America. https://youtu.be/4IsT8wS3Qq8?si=ypxcz3ZA6o3d9zbv *** *** Now this is one story in which I'll have to say this from beginning. ##### **There are a lot of trigger warnings..🔞** ..And I mean a lot. This anime cuts across numerous strong themes and it doesn't shy away from them midway nor does it try to butter it up. It gives it to the viewer exactly how it is and that is a grand beauty of it ✨ *** #### <center>Good Marks ✅</center> *** ##### - Animation The animations in this show was dope, which is to be expected as it was done by MAPPA, which is a company that has risen to came due to its godlike animation feats. Every fight scene, explosion and fast moving clip was detailed spectacularly, giving the viewer a clearly fixed and continuous image of what is ongoing on the screen ✨ *** ##### - The Themes Portrayed Now it's not everyday one would come across an anime that looks at real world issues as clear eyed as this. This show cuts across the evil themes most politicians do so as to secure their power or help in the rise to power. We see trafficking, drugs selling, murder, fornication and all other nasties... We get to see how they suffer almost no consequences and what the victims tend to suffer from their actions. It's straight up traumatizing for the viewer to be honest, but that's a win cause one way or another, the message was passed 😢. *** ##### - The Action Scenes It's a gang film with such a colourful theme list.. Of course the action scenes would be dope too. Watching Ash in action gives you the image of an American Jason Statham with hair. The fights were beautiful, diverse weapons ranging from guns to simple lead pipes were used and most times the fight scenes are mostly gang wars which were easy to draw and animate and chaotic for the viewer to watch. The one on one's on the other hands was purely a work of art. The fight styles being well thought out then mixed with Mappa's great animation gives the viewer a sense of oneness with the character in the fight. After each scene ones adrenaline would be pumping as though he just partook in said battle. *** ##### - The Odd Love Interests Now I've made it a mental rule to shy away from anything boy's love in my aime journey and I've stuck by that rule for most of my life.. > Yes folks.. I'm as straight as a ruler 📏 So imagine my shock when I saw the strange acts going on between our main characters Ash and Eiji..😑 > Lord was I mortified 😭😭 I had quite an impulse to immediately abandon the show but I was already hooked on the plot. So with great disgust towards this aspect, I finished the show. Now there was one thing I noticed, albeit my strict no gay rule, I couldn't help but notice how touching the relationship between Ash and Eiji was. The need of someone to hold your violent impulses back was both cute and rather understanding. Not to mention it helped stabilized the story's plot too. So despite me strictly against it.. The Boys love is a good marks on the anime's record. *** ### <center>Overall Review</center> With all good things said and *almost* no bad word uttered about the anime. I'll have to say it's an overall great anime. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good crime action with complex characters and warm touching scenes. It's a beautiful story with a moving plot that will stick in your mind long after the rolling credits. ![download (15).jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/seki1/23y94cPrWg1rCfmq22fkaeaKK1fkoNQZYkXhkrJyt1rGScrQWGYSA6CMYmgkCK78vGCdj.jpeg) [Source](https://images.app.goo.gl/wwzoEc8b4Mbjhxvt7) <div class="pull-right">8/10</div>★★★★★★★★⚝⚝
