Why are you starting a school?
My eldest son struggled with the local elementary school, was bullied, marginalised and consequently didn’t want to go. He was often angry, frustrated even depressed. “Why do I have to go to school?”. “Why do I need to learn this same thing again and again?” he said. I couldn’t answer his question. At times it was heart breaking - I felt helpless.
I wished there was somewhere for him to go, to be himself, to grow and be nurtured in an environment that cared about learning and personal development. Fortunately, after years of battling the system, we found a free school and in there he was able to spread his wings. His anger and frustration slowly disappeared. He became the boy he should have always been. Bright eyes and lust for life.
Every kid deserves a chance, but sadly, too many never get one.
