Just spent a great week, family of 4, in the midst of the virus crisis. This was our second time in Comporta (great vibes wonderful restaurants and beaches). The villa is perfect for a small group; beautifully designed, easy living, great location...... We alternated our days between a walk to Pego Beach (Sal), a short bike ride to Carvalhal Beach (the new Sublime beach Club), and a 15 min drive to Comporta Beach (Comporta Cafe). Could easily have made it 2 weeks. Andre is a brilliant owner/host. Given the virus it was touch and go if we could go from the UK and Andre and I were in daily contact and he showed a very considerate and flexible attitude as we faced possible cancellation. In the end we went, felt far safer than in the UK, everywhere in this region showed so much respect to the rules and given the low rate of infection in Alentejo it is incredibly baffling as to why the UK still has it on the red list (as of today). So overall this is a special place, the Comporta vibe is special, low key but classy; our 21 & 17 year old 'London' daughters want to go back next year. Rent a couple of bikes via Andre, take his restaurant recommendations, hire a convertible, pack light, eat well and get a great tan !!!
