Spoor62 offers a truly unparalleled experience of luxury and serenity. It is so very special to us. While we usually enjoy discovering and exploring new spots, we fell in love with Spoor62 and it has become our one and only getaway over the years, where, unlike any other places, we have kept returning many times and are always so thrilled about planning our next visit. I don’t have enough words to praise how wonderful it is.
A breathtaking driveaway, lined with cherry trees, leads you to the old railway station, which has been beautifully renovated in a textbook case of the perfect mix between old and new. A truly unique architectural gem.
The place transpires timeless elegance, love of detail and stunning modern esthetics. The atmosphere is so peaceful, it exudes calm and relaxation. It is the perfect retreat to forget about the daily stresses and come back perfectly regenerated. It feels in fact more like a super exclusive five stars boutique hotel (with only two guest rooms) than the usual bed & breakfast.
Both stylish bedrooms are exquisite and very private. Modern, sleek and tastefully decorated, they are spacious and well thought through, equipped with the finest amenities and offering all the modern comfort (apple TV, iPad players, smart lighting, etc.). They all have extra-large glass doors looking out at the fantastic garden and infinite greenery. The luxury beds, fully electrical adaptable, are incredibly comfortable. Superb open bathroom with large rain shower as well as a free-standing bathtub in room .62.
The breakfast, that you can take in the dedicated lounge or on the terrace overlooking the wonderful garden, is an absolute delight: artfully presented, it is delicious and wholesome, filled with the freshest local products (including eggs from their own chicken and fruits from the garden), always with a touch of originality (you will be asking for Irma’s recipes or retry her creations at home), and is changing every day.
The location, tucked away in the countryside between the coast and Bruges, is ideal to explore the region while being away from the tourist crowds, or discover the tranquil rural surroundings on foot or by bike. The area is also full of great fine-dining restaurants, which Irma will be happy to recommend according to guests’ preferences.
No matter the time of the year and the weather forecast, the ever-changing scenery is always idyllic and there will always be something to enjoy, be it the coziness of the warming lounge fireplace or the lovely reading cabinet. We definitely recommend to extend your stay with the Lazy Sunday arrangement (which allows for a late check out and delicious pastries with tea and coffee served in the afternoon).
Last but not least, we have to stress the unequalled hospitability of the hostess Irma, who is the most charming, helpful, friendly yet unobtrusive person. We always have such a great time talking with her and Jos, her husband, sometimes over a glass of wine. And their beautiful Welsh Springer Spaniel, Zoe, has totally won our hearts.
