The area is nice and so is the property. However, we had booked La Cabine for 3 nights, but stayed only 1 night, because a good night’s sleep was prevented by very narrow (80 cm) and hard matrasses, and by a slight but hearable ventilation noise coming from the mechanical ventilation (we were told there is no ventilation, but that was obviously not true). It’s a loft, so everything is open (bathroom … steam), kitchen (fridge … going on and off), so this is something to take into account for people who want real peace and quiet. A better and wider (2-person) mattress of better quality would certainly be a good investment.
Upon telling the owners right away the next morning that unfortunately we had to leave, the reaction was not sorry or apologetic, but defensive, which was quite a disappointment. Even though we had filled a booking gap (I knew they have been booked out till November, but we were suddenly contacted a day before and came spontaneously) we did not get back any money for the days we didn’t stay.
Reply of the hosts:
Following a last minute Covid cancellation, we were happy to propose our loft La Cabine which is an open space on the first floor of La Station (indeed, we are fully booked for almost a year). After several emails regarding questions on the absence of neighbours and noise, exclusive use of the sauna, the possibility to bring own bed sheets, the removal of wifi etc., we confirmed the booking.
La Cabine is not equipped with air conditioning but with a manually operated air extractor (a legal obligation) for the bathroom and the toilet. We tried to meet our guest’s expectations as best as we could and we are sorry that we were unable to satisfy their needs, regarding the mattresses: we chose them as the best compromise for this versatile space (bedroom/TV room) in our loft.
We have a long history of wonderful encounters with our guests and are grateful for the beautiful feedback we receive. This time it was different.
We want to keep the energy for positive relationships and creative accomplishments. Therefore we will reimburse the entire stay. Happiness is simple.
