I live in a suburb of London, with my husband and two sons (aged 20 & 17). My husband, an Information Specialist and I are experienced hosts and have welcomed guests from France, Italy, Germany, Russia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and USA, to name a few! <br />
I’m a qualified TEFL teacher, I have a first degree in American Studies and a postgraduate qualification in Library Science. My teaching experience includes tutoring English at Primary and Secondary levels, Trinity exams, Cambridge Business Vantage and also History at A’ Level. I have worked in libraries and research institutes in London and lived in Wales, America and Scotland. My hobbies include history, theatre, cinema and yoga. I enjoy cooking and cater for all types of diets and involve students with cooking and baking if they are interested.<br />
Our home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a garden. The student bedroom has twin beds and has its own shower room. We have fast wifi reception, cable tv with movie channels. I can cater for all types of diets, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free etc.<br />
We also have a small dog and a cat. There is no smoking in the house.<br />
We are 5 minutes from the nearest shops, petrol station and cashpoint, chemist, grocery shop, takeaway and Italian deli<br />
10 minutes walk to the nearest train station with trains to Central London.<br />
15 minutes walk into the small town which has supermarkets, banks, restaurants & cafes, library and train station with fast trains into London (50 minutes) and Brighton (50 minutes)<br />
30 minutes drive from Gatwick<br />
50 minutes drive to Brighton<br />
Our local area is known for its beautiful lavender fields just 10 minutes away. There are a number of good country pubs within 10 minutes of the house. Our home is on the edge of beautiful countryside, with woodland walks just up the road.<br />
Walking, swimming, tenpin bowling, golf, squash, gym, visiting historic houses and the cinema can be arranged locally, some with an extra cost.<br />
