"The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble,
he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand." Psalm 37:23-24
There is much that is causing us to stumble in our current days. We feel set backs all the time due to our daily struggles. Many obstacles are in our path. Sin, death, and the power of the devil are constantly tripping us up. It can all be quite discouraging. But God has not promised that this life would be easy. In fact, for those who believe in Him, He has told us just the opposite, that we should expect trouble and hardship. When we do, we might feel like we are stumbling in our daily walk.
The promise we are given in the Psalm above, is that, although we may endure regular difficulties, they will not ultimately deter us from the goal of the path on which we walk. We have a great God Who is walking right beside us, Who steadies us when we trip and lifts us up when we stumble. The same hand that formed the world and controls all time, is the hand that holds us as well. His is also a leading hand that guides us along the path of life to our final destination of the Promised Land of Heaven. This is God's plan for us. Trust in Him, trust the plan.
When this fallen world tries to cause us to fall, remember that we have God's hand to reach out to and when we do, we realize that His hand has already reached out to us. Because He makes firm our steps, we can delight, even when we stumble!
Know that you are loved, and alsoin confession, are forgiven. If we say we have no sins, we deceive only ourselves, and His truth is not in us, but if we confess our sins to God Who is holy and just, we are forgiven by the blood of Christ his son.
