"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:2
Are there challenges before you or temptations you are facing, maybe a difficult time ahead of you? These are the waters and rivers and fires of life in a fallen world. But there is no turning back, they must be dealt with, they need to be confronted and avoidance will only make them worse. The important thing from Isiah, is that we need not face them alone.
Scripture reminds us when God led the people to safety away from the Egyptian army as they miraculously passed through the Red Sea and again when the Lord miraculously separated the waters and led the Israelites across the Jordan River as He brought them into the promised land. You likely also remember when the Lord protected Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace so that not even their clothing was singed.
While not all of our threats are physical, the spiritual threats are just as daunting if not more insidious. We face a spiritual battle while here on earth and need the Lord's strength just as powerfully when they come our way. Thankfully, the same great God Who has seen His people through such times in the past, is the same God Who is with us now. People change, He is eternal. When we call out to God in faith and rely not on our own understanding but in His promises, we are protected from true harm that would seek to destroy our souls. Our God will see us through and continue to lead us to our ultimate destination in the Kingdom of God!
In this fallen world there is no shortage of false prophet who use the mane of the Lord vainly. They push their own agendas and attempt to 4edorect the faithful. We are safe guarded from this wickedness by our focus and study of His word. Our faith, and by His grace. The meek truly will inherit the earth.
Fell God's love in your life! Let Him work through you. His justice is eternal, and His love never falters.
