I may consider $1 as a way to throttle excessive channel creations (in case it becomes problematic) but probably won't charge for creating a channel.
A channel, if successful, is worth way more than $1 and there will be all kinds of ways for Powping and the channel admins to get value from it. Also want to see a lot of creativity and charging for every channel may restrict imagination. Creating an additional channel costs near zero from our point of view.

As for the channel name, there are no unique names and this was a deliberate design decision. I'm designing for unlimited channels. Every channel is uniquely identified by the transaction ID it was created with.

As there will be no unique channel name, there will be no marketplace.
