No, I DESPISE the 76ers ownership-- total private equity clown-time.
I also don't care for Morey, his personality, his choice of players. Meh. Fawning over a guy like Harden is just not in my basketball DNA.
That said, Philly will get a single championship out of the next 5 years somehow on the back of Hinkie's work from years ago. This story happens so many times in Philly it's hard to count.
Chip Kelly completely revamped the Eagles culture, and it resulted in his 6 favorite players becoming the captains of the Super Bowl team. The ONLY non "Kelly guy" in the team captains was the new QB. That new QB was replaced by another Chip Kelly guy-- Nick Foles. Exactly ZERO people in Philly see it that way.
But when you're a big fan of CSW, this feeling of an entire city against everything you think isn't so depressing.
I'm a Trajan Langdon fan, the guy who assembled the Nets before they loaded up the Kyrie+Durant baggage. He's in Nawlins, and I'm a MASSSIVE Ball-family fan as well as a huge Zion fan. Like every single member of that team other than Brandon Ingram whom I HOPE is traded to Philly in exchange for Bennie Dimes.
Pelicans, what an awful brand, and a strange sports city. But maybe New Orleans is making a comeback, taking back the thunder in the next 200 years after the Erie Canal stole all of Nawlins thunder and gave it to NYC?
