This will sound like I am gunning for the $0.50. So just keep it, irrespective. I would quit my job in software engineering and look to develop an on-line code camp for kids who wish to learn programming. Furthermore, I would ensure that kids who didn't have access to a computer and/or internet connection would be able to get one. In the latter area I'd have to start local and work up from there.
I see lots of kids (my two included) who are able to use computers to do things, but they don't seem to be interested in how it works, and how to make a computer do something different. Maybe they just need someone to get the ball rolling.
