Though I often feel alien to this world, it is a feeling I fight against and do not encourage. I find this feeling reduces my empathy and compassion and becomes a barrier to love. The sense of otherness is persistant and pervasive however.
Perhaps I am at the other side of this blog author's spectrum? Rather than encourage the feeling of alienation, it is a stumbling block to me which I abhor. Being in the world, but not of the world makes for a challenge to narrow distance with others.
Is there some scripture upon which this advice is founded?
