A sumptuous Zinedine Zidane chip and a wonderful strike in injury time from Steve McManaman gave Real a 2-0 advantage and the tie was as good as over.

The return ended 1-1 and Real went on to win the final thanks to the genius of Zidane, beating Bayer Leverkusen 2-1.
