I got this bassinet about a month ago, and just put it together tonight. It's remarkably sturdy for the simple assembly. I assumed I'd need to glue the screws and pegs in place with some wood glue, even had some on hand, but found it unnecessary. Everything fit securely, and it was one of those things you could assemble without the instructions if you had to.
Mine came partially assembled, so the instructions had directions for assembly of parts that were already together. It made it a little confusing and overwhelming at first because I thought I was missing parts, but once I sat down and read it I understood.
I didn't have an issue with the wheels, aside from them being tough to pop in. I was ready to glue those too since another reviewer said they had issues with them staying put, but once we pushed them in according to the directions they wouldn't come out for anything in the world.
My only complaint is that one of the allen wrenches that came with the bassinet was too small to screw in it's coordinating hex screws. The bigger wrench for assembling the actual frame fit it's screws fine, but the smaller one that was supposed to tighten the screws that secure the bassinet to the wooden frame was a size too small. We have a few sets of allen wrenches laying around so luckily we were able to locate one a size up and get everything tightened correctly, but that could be an issue for someone relying on the provided tools to assemble the product.
The bassinet pad is a little thin and the sheet that comes on it is cheap and scratchy, but cute. I bought a Colgate bassinet mattress pad that fit this bassinet beforehand, and it's much thicker and more supportive. The outside of the product box says not to use any mattress not supplied by SummerInfant for this bassinet, but I feel like it's more of a liability statement than an actual warning since the pad I bought fit better than the supplied one and felt more comfortable.
Overall I really like the bassinet, and it doesn't look as cheap or flimsy as I was afraid it would. It has it's flaws but the rest of the product's positives outweigh the few issues I had by a landslide.
