Nintendo’s earnings documents, released early this morning, paint a better picture of just how successful the Switch handheld-console hybrid is for the company. Between its March 3 launch and the end of the month, Nintendo sold 2.74 million Switches around the globe.

The company previously said the Switch had the fastest-selling launch in Nintendo console history in the United States, based on data provided by analytics firm NPD. But these new financials, as part of its fourth-quarter earnings statement, show just how well the console was received abroad. Japanese buyers snapped up 600,000 Switches, buyers in the Americas purchased 1.2 million, and other markets — including Europe and Australia — totaled 940,000 sold.

We generally only are privy to console sales data when companies chose to release it, or when they are required to report to shareholders, so it’s hard to give a one-to-one comparison to other modern console launches. But we could posit that the Switch’s momentum isn’t far away from the Xbox One’s or PlayStation 4’s at launch; the consoles sold 3 million and 4.2 million in their month-and-a-half launch windows, respectively.

As for future Switch sales, Nintendo forecasts it will will sell 10 million additional Switch units in the following fiscal year (which ends in March of 2018). That would almost catch the Wii U’s total life sales of 13.56 million consoles.
