It is one of the better 3rd party media apps. One thing that infuriates me and they refuse to acknowledge or fix is how sensitive the "swipe to dismiss" feature for tracks on playlists is. If I'm scrolling through a playlist or even just a file directory, if I slide my finger a millimetre left or right, it "dismisses/deletes" the file from playback, non-consenually. Some creepy french guy on GitHub couldn't understand the issue, so that doesn't inspire me much in their technical competence.

The only music player on my phone. It does a great job of organizing music by artist, album, year, whatever I want, and uses the album art, which not only is esthetically pleasing, but helpful in organizing and finding what you're looking for. Also works for video, which particularly on my laptop computer is far and away my favorite as well. My go-to on both mobile and PC.

On PC, VLC is a great, simple and intuitive player. On Android it's operation and organization is annoying and confusing. They took something that worked well and made it work poorly. The moving text is extremely annoying and no way to turn it off (turns out there is, but it's well hidden). There are no Android players with a simple user interface that works the way I want it to. VLC made a mess of it too. But no ads. And what's with these giant folder icons blocking my view? No icons please!

You can disable the moving text by going to More -> Settings -> Interface -> and set the option "Single line list title ellipsize" to "Left", you will only see the beginning of the text, sorry for the inconvenience.
