An exiled Saudi intelligence chief who played a key role liaising with western anti-terrorism operations claims his brother and two of his children have been seized as hostages by the authorities.

Saad al-Jabri was a senior aide to the former interior minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef until 2015. The prince, who was always regarded as the senior royal figure closest to western governments, briefly became heir to the throne but was ousted in a palace coup in 2017 and subsequently placed under house arrest.
