Applications are now open for Google’s Associate Product Marketing Manager (APMM) program! Sia-Linda, an APMM based in San Francisco, spoke about her path to the program. “I was born in The Gambia to Sierra Leonean Civil War refugees, and my family immigrated to the US when I was a toddler.” After graduating from college with a degree in communications, Sia-Linda moved to San Francisco to begin working as an APMM. “I drive global go-to-market strategy for Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit products launching on the Google store,” she shared. “I’ve also led the global digital page strategy for the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 Mint colorway, Chromecast with Google TV, and more.” Her advice for students interested in similar work? “Be yourself! Although you may have gone through hardships, those trials have taught you how to be resilient and understand different perspectives. Meet Googler Avtansh Pandey, a software engineer working on Google’s Node OS Dev team, who moved to Poland to make his dream of working at Google come true. “I wanted to be able to contribute to the impact Google has, and hence started looking for opportunities and found one in Poland aligned to my interests,” says Avtansh. “They helped me with a range of services and also acknowledged the range of differences one might face from local language to accommodation.” In addition to his role as a software engineer, Avtansh is on the Noogler Onboarding team, where he helps new Googlers get accustomed to the company’s culture.
