A campanha tem como objetivo mostrar a todos os desafios enfrentados por quem tem retenção urinária e é incapaz de urinar ou esvaziar completamente a bexiga, e por isso, precisa da ajuda de uma sonda vesical. Mais de 100 mil brasileiros enfrentam essa condição diariamente e juntos, buscamos dar a luz a essa causa, para que todos tenham mais independência e qualidade de vida. #LiberdadeAlemDaMobilidade #RetencaoUrinaria

This month, The European Association of Urology Nurses (EAUN) released the updated Evidence-based Guidelines for Best Practice in Urological Health Care; https://lnkd.in/d39zfct2 The 2024 guidelines have an increased focus on UTIs as this remains a big concern for IC users. In Coloplast, we share that focus and are proud to see the mentioning of our UTI assessment tool developed with 90 nurses globally to help healthcare professionals assess UTI risk factors in a systematic way, while engaging users and taking their perspective into account (https://lnkd.in/eQkZ8fRk). This commitment has led to the development of our innovative Micro-hole Zone Technology, and we are pleased to see it included in the updated guidelines. The Micro-hole Zone Technology catheter (Luja™ Male, Coloplast) has more than 80 micro-holes and is designed to empty the bladder completely in one free flow without the need for catheter repositioning*. The micro-holes may prevent suction in the bladder leading to urine flow-stops, and subsequently reduce the risk of micro-trauma** and residual urine (https://lnkd.in/eQ_uGXP7; https://lnkd.in/ev5vHuZd). 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 ☀️➡️💡 Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting the solar park in Hoby, Denmark which, since October, has been supplying us with renewable electricity for our Danish sites - all thanks to a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Better Energy. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹? We’ve been using 100% renewable electricity through renewable energy certificates (RECs) in our operations since 2018/19. But the PPA with Better Energy takes our dedication a step further. Through this PPA, we and other partner companies have contributed to the establishment of a local solar park which can generate enough electricity to cover the consumption of around 43,000 average Danish consumers. That means we not only help increase the demand for green energy, we contribute directly to the expansion of renewable energy in society. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁? This PPA is just the beginning. We’re investigating opportunities for more PPAs across other geographies to continue to contribute positively to the green transition where we do business. We are expanding our Luja™ portfolio with a next generation catheter for women! “I am excited that Luja and the Micro-hole Zone Technology will now be available for female catheter users. The new female catheter has 50+ micro-holes, enabling complete bladder emptying in one free flow, and I believe this technology will set a completely new standard in the market,” says our Executive Vice President of Innovation, Nicolai Buhl Andersen. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) remain a major concern and challenge for men and women using catheters. Flow stops and blockage of conventional catheter eyelets during catheterisation increase the risk of leaving residual urine behind in the bladder, which raises the risk of bacteria growth and is a well-known UTI risk factor. Luja for female users will launch across all Coloplast’s key markets over the next 12 months, starting in Denmark and Italy in May 2024*.
