Robert Gore grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico, graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA with a double major in economics and political science, and from UC Berkeley with graduate degrees in business and law. He held part time jobs throughout undergraduate and graduate school. He is an inactive member of the California Bar Association.

Robert traded bonds in Los Angeles for a Wall Street firm for five years before moving to a Southern California based brokerage. There he became one of the firm’s youngest partners, traded bonds for twenty-two years, managed the fixed income division and proprietary trading desk, and was on the executive committee. In 2012, he retired from finance to write full time.

Robert’s first novel, The Gordian Knot, a legal thriller and courtroom drama, was published in 2000. The Golden Pinnacle, a novel about rags-to-riches Wall Street titan Daniel Durand and his family set during the Industrial Revolution, was published in 2013. It is the first of a projected trilogy centered on generations of the Durand family. Prime Deceit is a political satire that takes dead aim at government, corruption, war, and other idiocies. The Gray Radiance is the second of the Durand family trilogy. Everything I Know About Business I Learned From The Godfather is a compilation of experience and wisdom from his business career and The Godfather novel and movies. Robert writes about economic, political, and cultural issues on his website, Straight Line Logic. He is also the CEO of a high-tech startup, 4Ry Inc.

Robert lives with Luke the cat in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

About once in a decade I come across a book so remarkable, so well written, so absorbing that, as they say, I couldn't put it down. Robert Gore's "The Gray Radiance" is one such book. Fascinating, real human characters with all their complex life events, and every emotion from war fierceness to passionate love, grabbed this reader in every scene. I marveled at this author's familiarity with every nuance of human struggles, every level of manners of speech, from family tragedy to Vietnam war obscenities. Our young main character, possibly hero, Nick Wozniak, seeks to solve the mystery of who was his father, in the midst of governmental and martial menace, on the threshold of imminent destruction. I marveled at the authenticity of each character's style of talking and the authenticity of geographical and historical references, even in the early 1900's and on multiple continents. It's a book I'll want to reread more than once. And it should be made into a movie.

Good story to get people to re-examine their premises about the government and media.

This was an excellently written mystery/thriller encompassing the media, Vietnam and World War II. Nick Wozniak's journey from a young man searching for a future winds up spending a great deal of time in the past, in search of his own identity through the discovery of his father's identity and demise.

One of the completely endearing aspects of this book was the discovery of the true Vietnam through Nick's reporting of it as the war raged. There was an intimate view of the Vietnamese society that seems like it could only come from someone who had been on the ground.

The insights into the CIA and the company's methods and viewpoints was another compelling part of the book. This was a great read from a talented writer, please look at his other works as well.

Exciting story wrapped around a history lesson. If you think the Vietnam war was necessary, I suggest you read this book. War is a racket, every time, every where. Well fleshed out characters and a riveting story makes for an excellent read.

One of my fav books is the Golden Pinnacle and when I saw Robert Gore had another book I jumped at it. He does not disappoint. Page turner and I slowed up toward the end because I didn’t want it to end! 👊🏻
