Taking as its starting point the argument that obsession with Utopia has begun to decline, this paper considers what might replace the concept in the twenty-first century. The paper continues by drawing on the important work of Peter Sloterdijk and Tony Blackshaw to accentuate the point that the good life is less about following grand narratives than it is about inventing oneself through a process of self-creation that
has been referred to as anthropotechnics. With this idea in mind, the paper goes on to unpack how a group of urban explorers find various substitutes for utopia in the subterranean space of the Paris catacombs, substitutes that deliver inimitable feelings of identity, togetherness and freedom. As it is argued, forms of leisure such as ‘urbex’ emerge as ‘primary spheres’ of anthropotechnics that instigate the formation of
intertwining and interpenetrating ‘topias’ which have been referred to here as ‘reterotopia’, ‘heterotopia’ and ‘scotopia’

Se indaga el sentido de la conferencia de Sloterdijk
“Normas para el Parque humano” así como las
polémicas por ella suscitada. Se realiza un diagnóstico
de la capacidad crítica del humanismo tradicional. En el
marco del naufragio del humanismo como escuela y
utopía domesticadora humana -marco en el que
Sloterdijk reclama una revisión genético-técnica de la
humanidad- se indaga ¿qué criterios pueden
establecerse para normar las inevitables luchas por los
derechos de la crianza humana? ¿Quiénes y sobre qué
bases debieran hoy detentar el derecho a la crianza?
¿Cómo determinar quiénes son los que educan y los que
son educados? Se proponen nuevos caminos que
tienen en la mediación de la técnica su formulación
discursiva y sus orígenes en las disidencias que, desde
la propia tradición filosófica, reducían la estancia del
hombre en el mundo a su expresión leída y escrita.

En el presente trabajo se analizará a grandes rasgos la “judicialización de la política” (Lawfare, canalización de demandas sociales, diseño y control de políticas públicas, etc.) desde una óptica filosófica. La hipótesis principal es que este fenómeno se corresponde con dos procesos característicos de la modernidad tardía: 1) la crisis del Estado-Nación, acontecimiento que aquí interpretaremos como una peripecia contemporánea de la “gubernamentalidad” –retomando motivos foucaultianos–; y 2) la diferenciación funcional de subsistemas sociales, basado cada uno en lógicas de funcionamiento local –de acuerdo a los lineamientos de Niklas Luhmann.
Estos procesos hacen que la sociedad carezca de un centro operativo y observacional  mediante el cual abarcarse y controlarse a sí misma, lo cual fomenta el avance de la “forma-tribunal” como vía para la resolución fragmentaria de conflictos. Este tipo de racionalidad política, por la cual se judicializan las relaciones sociales, adquiere preponderancia en sociedades altamente gubernamentalizadas y diferenciadas, las cuales requieren de dispositivos capaces de actuar localmente al interior de totalidades no-totalizables. No obstante, esto obtura la pregunta colectiva por el “buen vivir”, interrogante que –entre la globalización y la fragmentación imperante– queda a la espera de nuevos vínculos entre lo pequeño y lo grande, a los que aquí remitiremos mediante el concepto de “hiperpolítica”.

RESUMEN
La relación interna entre filosofía, literatura y arte permite examinar con propiedad qué significan la pluralidad y complejidad en los usos de la razón. Posibilita la aproximación a esos usos y figuras desde un ángulo privilegiado. El interés por lo literario y artístico no tendría por qué significar un apresurado abandono del modelo discursivo y analítico -que es característico de la filosofía-, sino más bien el acceso a un punto de vista más completo, un nuevo método reflexivo, otro límite crítico. Esta perspectiva facilita la puesta al día de las tesis modernas sobre la filosofía como emancipación, esto es, como su salida de la minoría de edad.
Espacios ficcionales, campos de proyección de la experiencia, métodos y perspectivas trasdisciplinarias constituyen los distintos niveles a través de los cuales se trata de definir un nexo complejo entre discursos. La ficción como conocimiento, subjetividad y texto, así como la relación entre mundo y lenguaje pretenden acotar algunas dimensiones de esa relación.
A través de la literatura llegamos a estar familiarizados con situaciones, sentimientos, formas de vida, obteniendo así una mirada desde dentro -epistemológicamente empática-. Cada nueva visión del mundo constituye un nuevo tipo de conocimiento, un conocimiento que puede incluir aspectos cognitivos y emotivos y que demandará, probablemente, algún tipo de lógica paraconsistente. De modo que a la par que por nuestras narrativas creamos o descubrimos mundos (dependiendo del estatuto ontológico otorgado a la ficción) también establecemos o desentrañamos la legislación lógica, según la cual tal curso de sucesos o tal tipo de entidades son o no admisibles al interior de este particular mundo posible.
Precisamente, es en la constante re-creación de sus objetos, práctica que surge en una comunidad de problemas -un espacio de representación colectiva- el espacio en que se da la ciencia. Es, precisamente, en una particular forma de hablar y de referirse a objetos, creándolos con el habla, el que funda a la medicina -por ejemplo- como cuerpo autónomo de conocimientos, vale decir como ciencia de primer orden. Las disciplinas, pues, en tanto discursos, están, literalmente, constituidas por él. Por ello es necesario estudiar el discurso científico en tanto que discurso, hay que reflexionar sobre sus orígenes y modo de constitución, hay que aceptar que no es sólo un producto sino una fuerza productiva. La realidad es una narrativa exitosa. Es aquello que se hace hablando. Las comunidades científicas son comunidades de problemas y, sobre todo, de retóricas, reconstrucciones de objetos que sólo existen en tanto se habla de ellos de una determinada manera,
Hasta los mundos narrativos más imposibles tienen como fondo lo que es posible en el mundo que concebimos como real. Las entidades y situaciones que no son explícitamente nombradas y descritas como diferentes del mundo real son entendidas a partir de las leyes que aplicamos a la comprensión del mundo real.
Así, pues, la narración de ficción construye un modelo análogo del universo real, una proyección...lo que permite conocer la estructura y los procesos internos de la realidad y manipularla cognitivamente. Se otorga así un valor cognoscitivo a la ficción, de modo tal que todas las posibles connotaciones, no expresadas directamente por el texto, sino -más bien- mostradas implícitamente o implicadas contextualmente en lo allí dicho, iluminan aspectos de la realidad que sin estas extrapolaciones ficcionales permanecerían en penumbras.
La perspectiva crítica -propia de la filosofía- puede hallarse así implícita en escritos de ficción, de la misma manera como las teorías filosóficas pueden aceptar como suyos a los argumentos procedentes del discurso literario. La reflexión filosófica se articula, pues, desde distintos ámbitos y modalidades discursivas.

Сферология П. Слотердайка является одним из оригинальных учений в совре-менной философии. Особый интерес представляет роль воображения в построении сферических моделей реальности. На основе анализа его работ обнаруживается, что сферология, по сути, является вариантом онтологии воображаемого. В работе устанав-ливается связь сферологии с некоторыми теориями воображения ХХ века, в особен-ности концепцией спонтанного воображения М. Хайдеггера и учением о стихийном воображении Г. Башляра. В определенной степени П. Слотердайк в понятии сферы синтезирует оба онтологических подхода в трактовке воображения.

Spherology of P. Sloterdijk is one of the original teachings in modern philosophy. The special interest is the role of imagination in the construction of spherical models of reality. On the basis of the analysis of his work, it is found that spherology, in fact, is a variant of the ontology of the imaginary. The paper establishes the connection of spherology with some theories of the imagination in the twentieth century, especially the concept of the spontaneous imagination of M. Heidegger and the theory of the elementary imagination of G. Bashlar. To a certain extent, P. Sloterdijk's concept of sphere synthesizes both ontological approaches in the interpretation of the imagination.

This article examines Olivier Rolin's use of stream of consciousness narration in L'invention du monde (1993). It draws upon philosophers Peter Sloterdijk and Paul Virilio to propose that the novel—with its obsessions for information, technology, and space—depicts a crossroads of subjectivity. At that crossroads, natural and computational connotations of "stream" collide, fueling the novel's central crisis. The misadventures of Rolin's postmodern, post-industrial, satellite-inspired Phileas Fogg reveal a central conundrum of accelerated globalization: namely, that the informational and technological mastery of our world comes at the price of sacrificing the ability to meaningfully position oneself within it.

En "Normas para el parque humano", Sloterdijk analiza el fin del humanismo literario como utopía de la formación humana, que sería insuficiente para inhibir o contener las tendencias bárbaras y destructivas en el nuevo contexto de nuestras sociedades hipermediatizadas. Una nueva antropotécnica emerge:  la posibilidad de intervención biotecnológica con fines domesticadores. Este uso de la tecnología, potencialmente opresivo, puede sin embargo reconducirse hacia resultados emancipadores.

In questo contributo si intende sostenere che lo sport incarna una forma di agonismo particolare, la cui struttura non è perfettamente congruente con quella della competizione capitalista, e che invece rappresenta la modalità in cui sono sopravvissute, metamorfizzate, alcune questioni tipicamente religiose. Nello specifico, mi concentrerò su una forma di surrogazione-la capacità dello sport di ritagliare un mondo ordinato-e due prestazioni apparentemente più eccentriche: incarnare senza risolvere due problematiche che tali rimangono, e che l'agonismo capitalista misconosce: il rapporto tra grazia e merito e quello tra il tutto e le parti.

Las investigaciones aquí desarrolladas buscan una aproximación interdisciplinaria al fenómeno de la salud y la enfermedad, así como a la naturaleza de la práctica médica en la posmodernidad. La filosofía de la medicina se inspira fundamentalmente en la actual filosofía de la ciencia, que ha abandonado la idea de una realidad objetiva o de un orden natural inmutable, reemplazándola por la representación de nuestro conocimiento, adquiriendo así uno de sus rasgos fundamentales, el carácter holístico e interpretativo.
Enfermedad, Biopolítica y Salud pública
Las investigaciones aquí desarrolladas buscan una aproximación interdisciplinaria al fenómeno de la salud y la enfermedad, así como a la naturaleza de la práctica médica en la posmodernidad. La filosofía de la medicina se inspira fundamentalmente en la actual filosofía de la ciencia, que ha abandonado la idea de una realidad objetiva o de un orden natural inmutable, reemplazándola por la representación de nuestro conocimiento, adquiriendo así uno de sus rasgos fundamentales, el carácter holístico e interpretativo.
Llevado al extremo de la irracionalidad, el esfuerzo de la medicina por preservar y cuidar la salud de las personas ha demostrado que es capaz de volverse en contra de aquellos a quienes pretende proteger. Cuando los médicos se empecinan en extender la vida aún más allá de las posibilidades fisiológicas y del deseo de sus pacientes, aparece lo que se ha dado en llamar el encarnizamiento terapéutico. Pero prolongar la vida innecesariamente no sólo perjudica a quienes se les priva del derecho a una muerte digna. En un mundo donde los recursos públicos que se destinan al cuidado de la salud no sólo son finitos, sino que muchas veces resultan insuficientes, su uso irracional parece cercenar aún más el acceso de la población en general al cuidado de su salud. Hoy se acepta el establecimiento de un límite en la asistencia médica, pero la cuestión es definir cuál es y quién establece, y aun más, cómo se valida este límite. Un punto de partida puede ser la observación de casos y el cambio actitudinal frente al manejo de estos conceptos.

Dieser Artikel hat das Ziel, am Beispiel einiger Werke des deutschen Philosophen Peter Sloterdijk darzustellen, inwiefern aktuelle philosophische Debatten innerhalb des deutschen Sprachfeldes im DaF-Unterricht vermittelbar sind. Sloterdijk ist dafür besonders gut geeignet, da er die Besonderheit aufweist, stark mit der deutschen Sprache zu „spielen“ und sich dadurch auszeichnet, mit Neologismen hochbrisante und äuβerst wichtige Themen anzusprechen. Darüberhinaus ist Peter Sloterdijk ein mediatischer Philosoph, der sich sowohl im Fernsehen als auch u.a. auf YouTube sehen lässt. Dies ist selbstverständlich von Vorteil, wenn es darum geht, Jugendliche für die Aussagen eines Philosophen zu interessieren.

La deconstrucción irrumpe en el pensamiento de la escritura, como una escritura de la escritura, que por lo pronto obliga a otra lectura: no ya imantada a la comprensión hermenéutica del sentido que quiere-decir un discurso, a su fondo de ilegibilidad y de deseo de idioma–, a las fuerzas no intencionales inscritas en los sistemas significantes de un discurso que hacen de éste propiamente un “texto”, es decir, algo que por su propia naturaleza o por su propia ley se resiste a ser comprendido como expresión de un sentido, o más bien “expone” éste como efecto –y con su legalidad y necesidad específica– de una ilusión para la conciencia.

RESUMEN
Mientras Arthur C. Danto discutía sobre el fin del arte y el linde de la historia –cuando todos los  relatos han llegado a su fin y ya no es posible ninguna narrativa, iniciándose de esta manera la post-historia del arte– los escritos de Baudrillard tributaban a una obsesión que ya estaba en sus primeros libros: el signo y sus espejos, el signo y su producción febril en la sociedad de consumo, la virtualidad del mundo y La transparencia del mal.  En La economía política del signo estudiaba con un enfoque materialista la mercantilización del signo; en sus libros posteriores (Las estrategias fatales, El crimen perfecto), volverá sobre su argumento con una torsión crítica: de qué forma la mercancía y la sociedad contemporánea están consumida por el signo, por un artefacto que suplanta y devora poco a poco lo real, hasta hacerlo subsidiario. Lo real existe por voluntad del signo, el referente existe porque hay un signo que lo invoca. Vivimos en un universo extrañamente parecido al original -las cosas aparecen replicadas por su propia escenificación–, en lo paródico de los simulacros  –en el círculo vicioso–  que es donde el mundo parece develar su ausencia total de sentido.

Abstract:

As Arthur Danto argued about the end of art and the edge of history, when all accounts have come to an end and it is not possible any narrative, beginning this way the post-art history writings of Baudrillard They paid tribute to an obsession that was already in his first books: the sign and mirrors, the sign and its feverish production in the consumer society, the virtual world and the transparency of evil. In studying political economy of the sign with the commodification materialistic approach of the sign; in his later books (Fatal Strategies, The Perfect Crime), he returns on his argument with a critical twist: how the merchandise and contemporary society are consumed by the sign, a device that supplants and eats slowly reality , to make it a subsidiary. Reality exists by the will of the sign, the benchmark exists because there is a sign that invokes it. Baudrillard and Arthur Danto, Simulacra and post-history, after the end of art, where everything is art and nothing is art.

“Ruralize the urban: urbanize the rural:… Replete terram [fill the earth].” Alluding to a passage in Genesis, these words appear on the frontispiece of Spanish Civil Engineer Ildefonso Cerdá’s colossal General Theory of Urbanization (1867). They capture the fervor with which he sought to construct a spatial order which would replace both city and territory and would overcome all historical boundaries and spatial distinctions. This new domestic template, the urbe, was to stretch across the earth, spanning both land and sea and uniting civilizations in a single spatial entity of private property and perpetual circulation. While more a biographer than the inventor of this new space unfolding across Europe, Cerdá’s frequent reference to the sea in describing the urbe (‘mare magnum’) extends beyond simple metaphor; it serves as an ontological model for constructing a fluid space whose power lies in its transcending of limits. In its oceanic pretensions, the birth of the urban, Cerdá imagined, would see the distinction between city and territory as a relic of the past, yielding in its place a hybrid spatiality that would erode the specificity of both. While recent scholarship has begun to theoretically address the urban (Brenner, Schmidt, Merrifield, et. al.), the historical, social and political construction of this spatiality has yet to receive much attention, and its ontological relation to ocean space, even less. This paper seeks to examine the urban in this context: if today we know the spaces the territorialization of the ocean has produced, what kinds of spaces may have resulted from a ‘maritimization of the land’? How does this help us to grasp the spectacle of our present as we extend urban spaces and technologies of circulation outward into the ocean? This essay will explore the question of ‘maritimization of land’ to show a history in which, some 200 years ago, territory, understood as a political technology, was fundamentally reformed through its augmentation by a spatiality that developed over the course of three centuries of maritime activities. The resulting adaptation of territory gave it the ability to mediate, shape and control spaces and processes across multiple scales simultaneously. The outcome of this territorial reform was the construction of a wholly new spatial order that we’re only recently beginning to grasp: the urban.

Se aborda el fenómeno del individualismo contemporáneo, las transformaciones de la intimidad y la fragilidad de los vínculos humanos. Se muestra cómo las sociedades telemáticas dan lugar a nuevas formas de fuga y ausencia del mundo, a un malestar cultural, donde hombres escindidos entre la agresión y el temor, experimentan derivas identitarias y zozobras existenciales ante la exacerbación del consumo, la alienación del trabajo y el terror difuso de las ciudades del pánico.

Na versão espanhola a parte inicial consiste em uma nota inicial. Até o prólogo chamado de " O nascer da Espuma ". A parte inicial me deixou bem intrigado. Espumas me deixou um pouco com a sensação do Bolhas de que ao virar uma página qualquer coisa pode aparecer. A forma e o texto de Sloterdijk dos outros dois livros continua e pelo menos nesse começo se mostra até mais direto. O começo de Espumas fala basicamente de que Espumas são locais para uma constatação de que espuma é igual a fertilidade um local de humanos e deuses. Um local de espumas, bolhas e de ar. Em " Espumas " , o volume três da trilogia, temos as pequeninas bolinhas, as espumas, que formam o que parece ser algo espesso, mas é altamente volátil. Estamos na " arquitetura da Espuma ". Eis que estamos no mundo atual, construído por um " dentro " de paredes finas. As esferas aqui estão em constantes catástrofes entrando em implosões. A esfera virtual, por exemplo, é um dentro que torna todos nós aparentemente familiares, ao mesmo tempo em que arrebenta as esferas que até então chamávamos íntimas. Sloterdijk mostra como que a forma esfera totalizante se perde, e o que passa a valer são as pequenas células, que até podem ter alguma forma esférica, mas diversas outras, ovais, quadrangular, hexagonais etc. " O pluralismo espacial e a multiplicidade dos centros de poder são seminais para a existência (dasein – ser-aí) nas " espumas ". O conjunto dessas células são as espumas. Elas são de maior concentração em determinados lugares do tapete da espuma e são menos concentradas em outras. A sociedade moderna e pós-moderna é não propriamente uma sociedade de massas, como se diz muito em trabalhos de Sociologia ou Filosofia, o que envolveria espaços sem respiração, mas uma sociedade de espumas, onde a respiração, a aclimatização, o ar condicionado e, enfim, as paredes finas, caracterizam a arquitetura dos grandes conglomerados urbanos. As atmotécnicas iniciais sem as quais a forma moderna de existir seria impensável. Temos instalação de calefação e ventilação nas casas e edifícios, a regulação artificial de temperatura e umidade do ar em escritórios, salas, a colocação de geladeiras e refrigeradores, câmaras frigoríficas, modos de conservação de alimentos, inclusive, à vácuo, a crescente política asséptica e de higiene de fábricas, minas, cirurgias e uma espécie de modificação aromática técnica da atmosfera. Cumpre-se um trânsito ao design de ar. Essa foi a resposta dos contemporâneos. Uma resposta técnica para uma ideia de fenomenologia atrasada de que o ser-em-no-mundo se apresenta sempre com uma modificação do ser-em-no-ar.

El artículo explora el significado de la idea de humanismo en medicina. Para ello propone, de la mano de Helmuth Plessner, una mirada fenomenológica sobre los vínculos entre cuerpo y persona, y sigue sus implicaciones normativas para el acto médico. Posteriormente, examina el alcance que la regla del respeto a la autodeterminación de los pacientes tiene en la comprensión del humanismo en medicina. Finalmente, en debate con Sloterdijk, explica el contenido normativo del humanismo en medicina en términos de justa generosidad.

The way we experience, investigate and interact with reality changes drastically in the course of history. Do such changes occur gradually, or can we pinpoint radical turns, besides periods of relative stability? Building on Oswald Spengler, we zoom in on three styles of thinking in particular, namely Apollonian, Magian and Faustian thinking, guided by grounding ideas which can be summarised as follows: “Act in accordance with nature”, “Prepare yourself for the imminent dawn and “Existence equals will to power”. Finally, we reach the present. How to characterise the new era we entered round the year 2000?

This thesis examines the ways in which political journalists in the USA and UK talk about issues of truth and power as it relates to journalism’s role as the Fourth Estate. The theoretical basis comes from a critique of the two major structures underpinning the Fourth Estate, that of epistemology (the study of truth) and ideology (broadly, the study of power and ideas). This involves unpacking and critically examining the ability of news media to convey ‘true’ information and the ideological formations in which the news media production practice is situated. The epistemological theories of Realism, Pragmatism, Antirealism and Hyperrealism will first be elucidated in an in-depth theoretical discussion, focusing on the contributions of Baudrillard. Four major theories of ideology, that of personal ideological bias, chaos, control, and ideology as fetishistic disavowal will be examined, this time focusing on the work of Žižek.
This theoretical discussion is complimented by an analysis of interview questions relating to epistemological concerns and to ideology. The empirical data consists of twenty interviews conducted with political correspondents in the USA and UK. A version of critical discourse analysis is used to examine the ways in which journalists talk about the issues raised by the questions, what is termed their ‘discursive strategies.’ The categories for analysis are grounded in the discursive strategies used by the journalists themselves, examined to elaborate not simply the explicit content, but the deeper implicit meanings inherent in the way they answer.
This provided both an original theoretical discussion and an original set of empirically-derived data. It also allows us to further understand the role of journalism as the Fourth Estate, the types of ‘truth’ it brings to us, the types of ideologies that underpin the news production process via news media professionals, and how the system is maintained despite its inherent contradictions.

Through an educational reading of Édouard Glissant and Peter Sloterdijk, this article draws out and develops latent pedagogical philosophies that bear distinct relationships to colonialism and struggles against and beyond colonialism. In particular, it identifies two related educational philosophies that propel colonization and, in turn, proposes a theory of errant learning that might undergird decolonization. It focuses on Glissant's minor remarks about different conceptions of understanding in order to identify the grasping drive (and its relationship to opacity and transparency) as the educational foundation of the colonizing apparatus. After articulating the other form of understanding he offers, giving-on-and-with (which turns away from enclosures and opens into Relation), I point to a potential contradiction in this division as it relates to his overall project. By freeing grasping from the grasping drive, I reconfigure the relationship between grasping and giving-on-and-with in a way that allows for certain kinds of enclosures. This introduces the question of peda-gogical form, a question explored in Sloterdijk's sphereological investigations. Reading the colonizing phase of globalization through Sloterdijk's notion of lordly imagining-which I link with the grasping drive-the article draws out how different educational processes produce different kinds of spheres. Finally, it articulates errant learning as a pneumatic process of grasping and giving-on-and-with that values opacity over transparency to produce foam formations with attention to the history of inequality and injury through immune deprivation.

This essay offers an overview of German philosopher Peter Sloterdijk’s theories about the theme of space. In particular, it illustrates the connection among three different spatial theories, each of which is presented by Sloterdijk in one of the volumes of his trilogy Sphären.
In the first volume, Sloterdijk offers and anthropogenic theory of maternal space that has biological and psychoanalytic implications. In the second volume, Sloterdijk addresses the birth of civilizations and metaphysical theories from a spatial/immunological viewpoint. In the third volume, Sloterdijk analyzes the disintegration of the living, communitarian, and metaphysical-inclusive forms he has previously argued for.
After the presentation of the abovementioned theories, the essay explores the connection between spatial theory and immunology in Sloterdijk’s thought and highlights how the former evolves with the parallel development of the latter until it is completely reabsorbed in it.

The article problematizes the contemporary and mostly affirmative
understanding of affective processes of outrage and excess in affect theories by outlining a genealogy from the “Conservative Revolution” (Oswald Spengler, Ernst Junger) to recent works of Peter Sloterdijk as well as Michael Hardt and Toni Negri. All the different approaches have argumentative intersections in their understanding of the relation between affectivity and corporeality: Bodies and affective outrages are emancipatory forces of opposition and change. Affective forces are considered to challenge the oppressive hegemonic culture and its rationality. Creative forces, the force of life and its potential, affective outrage and excess as such gain esteem. It is Friedrich Nietzsches theory of power which is the link between these theories. The genealogy highlights the simultaneity and dissimultaneity of affect control and affective outrages in modern and contemporary, conservative or rather new right and leftist affect theories and demonstrates the anti-modern tendencies in discursive figures of and political fascinations with outrage and excess.

This article discusses recent work by Peter Sloterdijk, who has developed a phenomenological analysis of human spaces. The aim of my contribution is to put this spatial theorization in rela- tion with political constructions. Sloterdijk’s undertaking presents itself as a long history of the cosmological and architectural elements that shape the very spaces of human-production. He also puts it forward as a new pathway for understanding the human topos which has been subsumed for too long by the metaphysics of the ‘beyond’ and which is currently liquefied by contemporary processes of mobilizing capital.

Beuys es el heredero directo de toda la tradición del Idealismo y el arte Romántico del Centro y el Norte de Europa. En su educación serán fundamentales las lecturas de Novalis, Holderlin, Schiller, Jean Paul, Tieck, Nietzsche, Hegel, Kierkegaard y más tarde el teósofo y educador Rudolf Steiner, auténtica columna vertebral de sus teorías sociales que ya había influenciado poderosamente a otros artistas de esta tradición romántica como Kandinsky. A lo largo de su itinerario, Joseph Beuys  pretendió acabar con la idea del arte como una práctica aislada para configurar un concepto “ampliado” del arte , abriendo el horizonte de la creatividad más allá del ghetto del arte.

Für ein Verständnis der aktuellen menschlichen Situation ist der aktuelle philosophische Ansatz von Peter Sloterdijk höchst erhellend. Er vergleicht Heideggers Ontologie mit der Anthropologie, die Moderne mit der aktuellen Lage der Postmoderne, erklärt die Bedeutung der Technik für die menschliche Identität und zeigt, dass es den ›Menschen‹ also solches in der Natur überhaupt nicht geben würde. Insofern sollten wir Menschen uns damit abfinden, dass wir Techniker sind, die in optimierten Klimazonen – Treibhäusern und Brutkästen – zuallererst zu Menschen werden.
Peter Sloterdijk's current philosophical approach is highly illuminating for an understanding of the current human situation. He compares Heidegger's ontology with anthropology, modernity with the current situation of postmodernity, explains the importance of technology for human identity and shows that there would be no such in nature as 'humans'. In this respect, we humans should accept that we are technicians who first and foremost become human beings in optimised climatic zones-greenhouses and incubators.

Tras el creciente interés concitado por la pintura de Edward Hopper -quien ha sido elevado a la categoría del artista norteamericano más representativo del siglo XX- cabe preguntarse por las causas de este fenómeno, más aún cuando Hopper como artista no fue nunca un revolucionario: ni en su técnica pictórica, ni en su lenguaje artístico, ni, tampoco, en la elaboración intelectual que se hallaba tras sus telas. Hopper 2 fue más bien un conservador, incluso un reaccionario 3; el concepto aplicado a su pintura, american scene painting , refleja a la perfección su mundo: un universo en el que no tenían cabida las rupturas de la abstracción y las inquietudes vanguardistas de la pintura europea. Sin embargo, aunque Hopper no lo supiese, lo que pintaba era un mundo sin salida, donde sus habitantes estaban atrapados. Todos sus cuadros parecen encerrarse en una impotencia tranquila, resignada, que fluye desde el rostro de las figuras solitarias o se disemina por las escenas urbanas."
