Targeted workouts are great—but there's something about a total-body session that just hits different. Turns out, Women's Health's January/February cover stars Katie and Denise Austin feel the same—and this full-body dumbbell workout is proof.

The mother-daughter wellness icons lead the 2024 Women's Health Strength Transformation Challenge, and you better believe they have several sweat-generating routines in store for you.

On today's agenda: a 30-minute full-body session that highlights compound exercises. ICYDK, that means you'll be working several muscle groups at the same time. "We are going to target the whole body head to toe—you'll love it," Denise says. You can expect a bit of cardio, while you focus on your abs, arms, legs, and glutes.

You'll want a set of dumbbells and a yoga mat for this session. Feeling gassed or just starting out? Feel free to ditch the weights and do the entire routine with just your bodyweight.

The breath-focused warm-up will ignite all your muscles before getting into the bulk of the workout. Once you grab your dumbbells, you'll start with compound exercises like deadlift variations, squat to press, curtsy lunge to shoulder press, and plié squat with a biceps curl.

After moving down to your mat, rainbow lifts, single-leg triceps pushups, hip bridges, straight-leg crunches, and toe taps are just a few exercises that'll fire up your middle and lower body.

For the cool down, you'll repeat several moves you did at the beginning. "I love to end the way we started," says Katie. "I want you guys to notice how much more energetic and confident you feel." Once you give this a try, you'll be amazed by how much you can accomplish in just 30 minutes.
