The Brits are known for their creamy trifles and puddings, desserts shown to great advantage in “The Great British Bake Off,” an award-winning baking competition show from BBC.
Now the British creation is coming to Israel via Keshet, but the desserts may take a different direction. Apple strudels and baklava, anyone?
The Israeli version of the reality baking show, which pits 12 contestants against one another, is being hosted by nutritionist Paula Rosenberg.
The judges are chef Ran Shmueli, who owns Claro, a farm-to-table restaurant in Tel Aviv’s Sarona Compound; chocolatier Oded Brenner, one half of chocolate company Max Brenner; and pastry chef Carine Goren, known for her cookbooks and television show, “Sweet Secrets.”
The reality baking show begins Saturday night, April 9.
