Amy has been a Food Network contributing writer — primarily covering the intersection between food and pop culture, including news and trends — since 2014. A New York-based freelance writer and editor focusing additionally on arts and entertainment, books, lifestyle, health and fitness, and other topics for more than 15 years, she has also written for The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, Wine Spectator, Glamour, Marie Claire and Kirkus Reviews, among many other print and online publications.

Experience: Prior to freelancing, Amy worked as an on-staff editor and writer for publications including Salon, where she penned a popular daily “people” column. Her work has been anthologized in books and garnered her appearances on CNN, MSNBC, C-SPAN and other news outlets as well as on NPR’s “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!”

Education: Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University.
