Here are the latest facts and figures on the state of global health: 🔸 Global life expectancy ↓ by up to 3 years, no thanks to the #COVID19 pandemic 🔸 Biggest killer diseases from 2019-2021 include COVID-19 and noncommunicable diseases (i.e. heart disease, stroke, cancers, diabetes, asthma and COPD, Alzheimer's) 🔸 Over 1 billion people are obese while ½ billion people over 5 years of age are underweight 🔸 1.3 billion people live with disability 🔸 Most countries do not provide adequate healthcare to refugees and migrants It’s not all bad news. The updated Bacterial Priority Pathogens List features 15 families of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
