Amazing therapist. I saw Allen for about 3 years when I was in Los Angeles for school and I found him to be very helpful. He is intelligent, has great insight, and really cares about his patients. He was able to give me some tools to help me focus on my school work (without medication) and live a more successful and balanced life. He also gave me some solid advice on how to manage and cope with the stress of graduate school. Since he also does couples counseling, he gives pretty spot on relationship advice as well.
I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of some guidance.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 -

Allen is understanding, empethetic, and never makes you feel judged. My husband and I saw him just recently and he really saved our marriage. I highly recommend Allen.

I've only been to one session so far but I am definitely going to keep going. I left the session feeling much more optimistic and with tools to move forward. I would definitely recommend.

Everything you would hope a therapist would be: thoughtful, empathetic, a great listener, and provider of concrete suggestions to help improve our marriage from functional to hitting on all cylinders.

I came to Allen during a very difficult time in my life (break-up, career changes, AND family issues) and he helped get me through it. Allen was able to target my problems, while also working collaboratively to help me discover more effective solutions. A warm and insightful therapist, Allen challenged me to shift negative thinking and change old patterns.
I have had such positive experiences in therapy and would encourage everyone to seek the guidance and support of a skilled therapist. If you are looking to take the leap into therapy, I highly recommend Allen Wagner, LMFT.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 -

When I went to see Allen, I really felt like my life was good, but directionless. I needed help focusing on the things that matter. All tasks and issues are not created equal, and he knows the right questions to ask. He is a total straight shooter and I liked that. Highly recommended.

I had a problem with my marriage life and felt trapped for quite a bit. Within 5 sessions Allen Wagner helped me a lot in understanding the essence of my relationship and making the right decisions to myself. I find Dr. Wagner very emphatic, understanding, comfortable to talk/listen to and very helpful!
I cannot think of any better way than what he offered me. I strongly recommend his service to anyone in need!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 -

Went to Allen for over a year so far and he definitely helped so much. He asks the right questions to draw out important information, focuses on right things, and offers his interpretation of a situation. He always gives great suggestions and helpful advice or tools. I normally walk out feeling very hopeful or motivated. He is genuinely caring. Fair on timing. Tries his best to be flexible. Quick response times. Highly recommend him!

I got Allen's name from a friend who goes to marriage counseling with him religiously. He wasn't "in network" which was a bummer (it doesn't seem like good therapists are these days!), but he does provide a "super bill" every month, so I do get reimbursed. Since we started seeing him, I feel like my husband and I are more connected, and present with each other. We say what we feel instead of just assuming the other knew, which was always our problem. It was initially hard to adjust to changes in our routines, but we have never been happier, and I feel like our marriage finally got the kick start it needed.

I got his name from a friend at work who noticed I was in need of some help, since he had experienced some of the same issues I was having (work, wife, family). I was hesitant at first since the traffic into Mid-Wilshire is horrible from Burbank, however, after talking to Allen on the phone a few minutes I felt we could make the drive.
Although he was not the first therapist I visited, I quickly realized how much I wasn't clicking with the others. Often times the sessions seemed one-sided, and not really getting us anywhere. Allen's approach made feel optimistic about what I was going through and made us realize it is a pretty normal thing for couples. After 2 months of counseling we have noticed positive changes at home. I am very appreciative of his balanced ways, explaining when he disagrees with a particular position and helping me understand that he is not in favor of either person, but rather the relationship. I feel he is actually helping us get to where we want to be.
This guy is great at what he does.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
