(Note: I have 4C, afro-natural, very dry & low-porosity hair.) The product was safely sealed in plastic.PROS:- This is probably the best thing I've ever tried for detangling my hair. That alone helps a great deal with cutting down on breakage.- It does "enhance" the body & thickness of my hair.- I think that it made my hair feel somewhat stronger.Meh factor:-As to whether or not it repairs, seals, and prevents split, I can't tell after a few uses. However, because it does- I didn't get any of the shine factor. Of course, my hair type is not conducive to much shine so that's just the way it is!CONS:- The softness was incredible until the product dried. Then I had to use my regular moisturizers.Overall, I'm undecided whether or not will buy this again. On the one hand, it is the best detangler I've used. On the other hand, the price is up there.
