Ana Navarro is coming to Gisele Bündchen‘s defense after the model was dragged into Tom Brady‘s brutal Netflix roast last night. As The View recapped the live event, Navarro critiqued the number of jokes made at the expense of Bündchen, who divorced Brady in 2022.

When moderator Whoopi Goldberg asked the panel if they’d be able to laugh at jokes about “personal matters” as Brady had done, Navarro said she was sure the former NFL star was chuckling all the way to the bank with his paycheck for the roast, which he executive produced.

“I think the person who wasn’t getting paid and ended up being part of this roast was Gisele,” she said. “I think that’s a really kind of bad, lame thing to do to your ex-wife and mother of your children.”

Navarro said she felt “particularly bad” for Bündchen after her teary exchange with a police officer was captured on video late last month, showing her breakdown after being stopped for a traffic violation while trying to flee paparazzi in her Miami neighborhood.

“She wants to live her life. She’s got a new cookbook, she’s out there right now trying to raise funds for Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, where over 75 people have died recently from floods,” Navarro continued, before exclaiming, “Leave Gisele the hell alone! Go make your money elsewhere. I thought that was really tacky.”

Her co-hosts agreed, with Alyssa Farah Griffin describing the roast as “mean-spirited” and Sara Haines noting, “Gisele came to mind a lot for me, because I thought, ‘They’re going through all this,’ [and] she was just here at our show.”

Sunny Hostin added, “I love comedy and I like to laugh, but not as people’s expense. That makes me uncomfortable.”

Later in the chat, Navarro suggested Brady give half of his roast earnings to Bündchen, and called out the pro athlete for defending Patriots owner Robert Kraft from some of the night’s barbs but not his own ex-wife.

“He got up at some point to tell the roast master to knock it off when it came to Robert Kraft. So he wants it to be knocked off when it comes to Robert Kraft, but not to Gisele? No me gusta. I didn’t like it,” she said with a shake of her head.
