This research sought to investigate the impact of environmental training on suppliers' environmental orientation and green logistics management practices. A positivist world view was adopted to answer the question regarding the relationship between variables, thus making this a deductive study. A quantitative approach was followed in the study, which is in line with the selected paradigm. Questionnaires were used to collect data from the study population ie manufacturing, agricultural or agribusiness, mining or extraction, and logistics/transportation firms in Ghana. The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) database was used to determine the size of the target population. The GRA database contains reliable and accurate data on approximately 1179 registered tax-paying enterprises in Ghana, including the industry type, address, and contact numbers. A sample size of 300 firms was selected from a total of 1178 respondents. The findings from hypothesis H4 reinforce the existing literature's narrative regarding the positive connection between supplier environmental orientation and green logistics management practices. The study's focus on supply chain sustainability aligns with the recognized importance of environmentally conscious suppliers in realizing effective green logistics practices.

This study investigates the predictive capacity of the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) components-Risk-Free Rate, Beta of the Security, and Market risk Premium-on stock returns in the Ghana Stock Exchange. Employing a quantitative approach, the research collected responses from 154 participants, including accounting professionals and investors. Structural equation modeling techniques were utilized for data analysis, ensuring the reliability and validity of the constructs. The path analysis validated three hypotheses, revealing significant positive effects of the examined CAPM components on the Expected Rate of Return/Sock Return. The findings contribute empirical insights to financial asset pricing literature, confirming the applicability of CAPM in the Ghanaian context and providing actionable guidance for investors. Implications extend to academic discourse, influencing financial analysts, policymakers, and market practitioners. Recommendations for further study involve exploring variations in CAPM application across diverse emerging economies and investigating the stability of relationships under evolving market conditions.

This paper presents the results of a systematic review aimed at identifying the underlying causes of informal settlements on the continent. Through a meticulous screening process, 92 papers were selected for qualitative analysis from an initial pool of 574 eligible items. The study elucidates that informal settlements emerge as a consequence of rapid urbanization and serve as stark indicators of urban poverty, proliferating in improvised forms within and around African cities. Key systemic issues contributing to the expansion of informal settlements include the lack of access to affordable housing, inadequacies in spatial planning policies, and deficiencies in land management systems, all exacerbated by the challenges of growing urban poverty. Despite variations across national contexts, countries grappling with informal settlement growth share common underlying problems. The findings underscore the enduring nature of informal settlements and advocate for a nuanced understanding of their complexities. Efforts to address these challenges necessitate a holistic approach that integrates the informal settlements into local government policies. Recognizing the resilience and agency of informal settlement dwellers, the study emphasizes the need for inclusive strategies that harness the economic potential of these communities. In conclusion, the study posits that informal settlements are unlikely to vanish and calls for heightened attention to be paid to these settlements within urban policy frameworks. By incorporating informal settlements into policy discourse and interventions, governments can strive towards more equitable and sustainable urban development trajectories across Africa.

This systematic review investigates the burgeoning flood risk in developing countries, propelled by population growth in floodplains, shifting land use patterns, and the impacts of climate change. Focusing particularly on human settlements in high-risk floodplains, with Ghana as a primary case study, this study synthesizes findings from scholarly works sourced from Web of Science and Scopus databases. Recent research illuminates the potential of various technologies to address environmental challenges associated with floods. Critical issues such as flood exposure and vulnerability are examined, highlighting deficiencies in urban planning, drainage infrastructure, and responses to extreme rainfall events. The ramifications of flooding encompass not only physical and economic costs but also ecological damage and psychological distress among affected populations, exacerbating existing societal disparities and anxieties. The study underscores the pivotal role of effective response strategies in building community resilience against flooding, recognizing the constraints posed by limited resources and governance shortcomings. Despite these challenges, it emphasizes the necessity of proactive government intervention to prepare vulnerable communities for the escalating frequency and severity of flood events anticipated in the future.

Employee turnover intentions in Private Tertiary Institutions in Ghana can be influenced by several factors. The turnover rate of hardworking employees remains one of the most frustrating and persistent issues facing most organizations. While there is a global demand for competent workers, organizations have little insight into how best to retain their workforce. Employees' decision to quit their current job is referred to as turnover intention. Whereas, the number of employees joining or leaving the organization at a particular period is regarded as employee turnover. This study aims to investigate the factors influencing workers intentions to quit their current jobs for other employment opportunities in Ghana. Also, this paper aims to apply Herzberg's motivation and hygiene factors to provide a conceptual foundation for strategic planning to tackle the ongoing turnover intentions in education. This is a qualitative study where 18 participants were interviewed using the snowball approach. The representation of participants were management, faculty and administrative staff in selected Private Tertiary Institutions in Ghana. The findings reports that turnover intentions sprout as a result of job insecurity, inadequate resources, poor work conditions, low motivation, and poor salary. Further, it was ascertained that despite the cost of turnover in terms of hiring and training; the worst outcome is the human capital flight of accumulated expertise and core competence transferred to the new job. Hence, it is critical that employers implement attractive systems and strategies to reduce employee turnover and retain the best talent.

The objectives of governments in developing countries to provide infrastructure to solve social and economic problems are invariably thwarted by poor or lack of maintenance of these structures as evidenced by maintenance-culture lapses from countries or communities. Both the user and economic values are truncated most often and assets are left to waste. The study aims at reviewing from empirical sources, factors affecting maintenance procedure, its time, and maintenance culture and finding an innovative way to bring poor maintenance culture under control. The methodology included a review of conference papers, journals, magazines and brochures of organisations on maintenance. Relative importance indices of both maintenance procedure, time, and culture in organisations were sourced from two border countries. As a result, administrative issues, the building's age, technological flaws, and a lack of interest in future maintenance considerations influenced the maintenance technique and time. Lack of leadership, communication, involvement, teamwork, and other factors have all been identified as contributing to the bad maintenance culture. The study concludes that a matrix model should be built to juxtapose the two topics and discover remedies to the inadequate maintenance culture. Organisations are encouraged to develop charts to cover maintenance procedures, their time and maintenance culture on notice boards to allocate tasks and responsibilities to teams and individuals at the helm of affairs of maintenance.

A business model (BM) is a framework of related components or a description of how value is produced, distributed, appropriated, and utilized by an organization. Various academics have found the definition to be challenging. There are still those who disagree about the precise definition of a business model (BM). Some scholars refer to business model as a description, while others refer to it as an activity system, a template, or a framework. Scholars define cognition as simply the process of thinking, and they emphasize the significance of cognitive theories for knowledge resources and learning strategies used by managers in organizations to make decisions. The goal of this study is to review the connections that exist in contemporary organizations between business models and cognition. The study is qualitative in nature and attempts to analyze the components of business model constructs within cognitive schemas as well as the elements that make up each person's mental image of their own BM.

This study aimed to determine the prevalence of phenotypic colistin resistance among bacteria isolated from poultry production settings in Wa, Ghana. Fecal samples were collected from adult birds, young birds, and import boxes at farms in the Wa Municipality. Bacteria were isolated and identified using standard biochemical testing. The most common organisms identified were Escherichia coli (27%) and Citrobacter species (27%). The Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion and broth microdilution minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) methods were used for antimicrobial susceptibility testing against colistin. By MIC testing, 7 isolates (50%) displayed colistin resistance, as against only 2 isolates (14%) by Kirby-Bauer. This discrepancy between test methods reinforces literature indicating poorer sensitivity of disc diffusion and MIC for resistance detection. Resistance rates were highest in import box isolates (75% by MIC), followed by young birds (60%), and lowest in adult birds (20%). Alarming levels of colistin resistance were detected, particularly among bacteria from import boxes. This suggests likely transmission via international poultry trade. Prudent antibiotic use and infection control are critical to preventing further emergence and spread of colistin resistance in poultry production in Ghana. Expanded monitoring, along with molecular and genomic analysis, are warranted to fully characterize resistance mechanisms and epidemiology using the reliable MIC methodology over disc diffusion for accurate resistance detection. Overall, proactive measures are urgently required to combat the rising threat of colistin resistance globally.

Several academics have claimed that rapid response time is now crucial to success in today's business environment. However, supply chain agility has received little academic attention and even less in the way of empirical research. By focusing on the context of Ghana, this paper seeks to address this knowledge gap by analysing the connection between supply chain agility (SCA) and performance of organizations in Ghana's SMEs' manufacturers. Process alignment, virtual integration, shared chain accountability, and market sensitivity are the four pillars of supply chain agility, which are explored in this study. The methodology also evaluates how much of an impact supply chain agility has on a company's productivity. It was a survey-based quantitative study containing data from 150 participants. It was discovered that ASC can be predicted and influenced by factors like as process alignment, virtual integration, shared chain accountability, and market sensitivity. This study reveals that ASC can affect performance manufacturing firms. The findings of this study make a valuable contribution to the existing body of literature by providing a more comprehensive and nuanced perspective on the relationship between supply chain agility, organisational performance, and production levels. This research addresses the important question of why the advantages of agility in the supply chain may or may not be realised in different manufacturing contexts.

Although there is a general agreement that organisational performance is important, studies focusing on industrial organisations in Ghana have not adequately investigated the factors that affect it. The primary objective of this study is to examine the relationship between green supply chain management and the total productivity of producing firms in Ghana. Information for this research came from 211 participants who are managers, executives, or administrators in the supply chain of Ghanaian manufacturing firms. Two independent variables-green design and green manufacturing and logistics-formed the basis of our evaluation of green supply chain management. It should be noted that our evaluation of the organization's performance was limited to only one factor. Gathering participant demographic information, the researchers used SPSS (V24) software. The research hypotheses were also tested using the Smart PLS (V4.0) data analysis programme. From a green supply chain management perspective, the results show that four critical areas-green design, green production, green procurement, and green logistics-significantly affect an organization's performance. The implications of the study's findings for industry experts are discussed in greater detail later in the report. We have also highlighted potential future research directions and revealed the limits of our current study.

To what extent the activities of a company or other organization affect the interests of its stakeholders is the question of corporate social responsibility. While some companies have seen gains in performance after implementing CSR initiatives, the vast majority have not. Concerning corporate social responsibility (CSR), few research have been carried out in Ghana's oil and gas sector. That is why the purpose of this study was to look at how CSR affects business results. Data from 160 different companies were collected using quantitative research methods. For each set of data, SPSS-AMOS version 26 was used for analysis. Not a single Ghanaian oil and gas company was the subject of this investigation before. According to the research, oil and gas businesses' bottom lines were significantly affected by their CSR initiatives in the areas of ethics, law, philanthropy, and economics. The conclusion drawn is that CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) has a significant impact on business results.

This study examines the problems faced by rural household members in accessing financial services and the coping strategies employed following the collapse of Groupe Ndoum Bank (GN-Bank) in the Northern Region of Ghana, specifically the Tolon District. Malone's method (Malone, 2020) was used to determine the sample size for the study, resulting in a sample size of 210. 120 adults engaged in business with GN-Bank from the Tolon community were selected using purposive sampling technique. Similarly, 90 adults conducting business with GN-Bank from the Nyankpala community were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data was collected through key informant interviews and questionnaire administration, with analysis involving content analysis and Kendall's Coefficient of Concordance. The findings revealed that the primary constraint faced by agrarian household members when using financial services was low financial literacy concerning dealings with other banks and financial institutions. Moreover, the study highlighted that many of these agrarian households have resorted to employing personal home savings methods and utilizing mobile money accounts due to the absence of reliable financial institutions and waning confidence in the formal financial sector. As a recommendation, this study emphasizes the need for prompt intervention from the Ghanaian government, the Central Bank of Ghana, and the receiver of the collapsed bank. Swift actions are encouraged to refund the monies or investments of these agrarian households, thereby addressing the financial predicaments resulting from the bank's collapse.

Personality traits are of ultimate importance regarding how the police force engages with lower officers. This study examined the effect of the various personality traits on the emotional intelligence of police officers at Kampala Central Police Station in Uganda. The study employed a survey research design and a structured questionnaire was used to source primary data. A stratified random sampling technique was employed to select 50 police officers stationed at Kampala Central Police Station from different departments. The items/constructs of variables in this study were measured on a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, principal component analysis, and linear regression methods. The study revealed that the various personality traits (except openness) significantly affect the EI of officers at KCPS. The study recommended that the government should prioritize providing emotional intelligence training to management in the police force. Also, when selecting individuals for managerial positions in the Uganda Police Force, they should consider personality traits such as agreeableness and extraversion.

Drawing on dynamic capability theory, this study empirically investigates how relationships that exist among supplier selection, collaboration, visibility, and inventory control capabilities can be configured and integrated to anticipate, respond, and recover firms from supply chain disruptions. The quantitative method was deployed with survey data from hospitals in Ghana. 338 online questionnaires were administered. 267 were returned representing a response rate of 78.9 percent. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was deployed to measure the relationship between the constructs. The study revealed that the four resilience strategies relate to one another. The study reinforces Dynamic Capabilities Theory (DCT) when building resilience investment in the phase of uncertainty. The result indicates that resilience strategies are necessary resources to create value for healthcare when supply chain processes experience unpredictable change. Healthcare organizations require these key strategies to enhance the management of goods and services in the era of supply chain turbulence.

IoT devices have fundamental security flaws that leave them open to a variety of security threats and attacks, including attacks from botnets. Therefore, creators of botnets continue to take advantage of the security vulnerabilities inherent in IoT devices to control many host devices on networks to launch cyberattacks on their target systems. The ongoing development of techniques to evade and obfuscate existing detection and security procedures makes it difficult to discover IoT bot vulnerabilities. This study proposes a deep learning method to detect two famous botnet-based attacks: the mirai and Bashlite bots on IoT devices. Our approach implements a 1-dimensional convolutional neural network model (1D-CNN) that is trained on 115 features of real traffic data collected from nine commercial internet of things devices infected by the two mentioned IoT bots to recognize 10 classes of attacks and 1 class of benign traffic. The trained multiclass classification malware detection model was evaluated on 847513 samples, containing 7062606 instances from the N-BaIoT dataset. We further trained two existing models: Plain Feed forward neural network and a popular supervised machine learning classifier, (Logistic Regression) models on the same preprocessed datasets, and compared the classification performances against our proposed model. The experimental results show that our 1D neuron-based model produced a higher prediction in terms of

We examine the history and development of Naturopathic practice in Ghana. We adopted a two-stage qualitative research design, which includes a semi-structured key informant interview accompanied by a document search with the primary stakeholder who is the President of the Ghana Alternative Medicine Practitioners (GAMPA) association at the Ministry of Health who was identified through a process of the Key Informant Technique. Information collected from the key informant was triangulated with documentation under his purview in the archives from his office and other literature searches. A narrative analysis was then carried out. Early and the majority of current Naturopaths received their education through a correspondence system of education. The first Naturopathic Medical School which had developed the first-ever higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelors in Technology Naturopathy under the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Trainings (CTVET) is yet to receive program accreditation. Also, the lack of standardized education in Ghana has averted the development of the industry to enable the achievement of the full potential of the Ghanaian healthcare system. Conclusion: Naturopathy has gained huge momentum in Ghana. Our result demonstrates the history of proceedings that occurred in the Naturopathic profession space in Ghana from the 1960s to the modern era.

This study explores the legal authority of Ministerial directives by the Minister of Health to the Traditional Medicine Practice Council to regulate the Practitioners of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Ghana. Additionally, the study explores the effect of legislation on the treatment practices and the role of naturopaths in the Ghanaian Healthcare space. A qualitative research approach using a case study design was employed. Data was collected using an unstructured questionnaire to conduct interviews among 50 respondents who are Naturopathic Doctors in training at Nyarkotey University College of Holistic Medicine & Technology (NUCHMT). A question-by-question analysis was then carried out. This study found that, though there exists a Ministerial directive on CAM practices to the Traditional Medicine Practice Council to regulate CAM Practitioners, this Ministerial directive can be challenged in Court. Additionally, there is unanimous agreement among respondents in support of legislation to regulate CAM Practitioners in Ghana. Conclusion: Though, some respondents expressed some discomfort with the proposed standardization in CAM, especially in Naturopathy. It must be stated that no profession can succeed without regulation as it provides the framework for the industry. Indeed, regulation, legislation, or standardization affects every profession globally. It is recommended that the passage of the draft Traditional and Alternative Medicine Bill which seeks to bring clarity to the Traditional and Alternative Medicine Profession should be facilitated.

The article performs a desk study to evaluate the effect of Ghana's oil discoveries on the behavior of the agriculture sector. It makes use of the idea of the Dutch sickness, which is known as the natural resource imprecation hypothesis. We argued that the declining behavior of the agricultural sector following the oil find is a representation of a sort of Dutch illness based on the experiences of other countries with the sickness. We urge the government to act quickly to maintain equilibrium and promote growth in the agricultural industry, which provides the majority of the populace with their primary source of income. To ensure that the sector's productive base is functioning, policies like encouraging young people to participate in agricultural programs, providing subsidies, and recognizing successful farmers should be encouraged.

The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating role of teaching faculties personality traits in the link between perceived organisational politics and their psychosocial well-being in Ghanaian public technical universities. The positivist paradigm was employed as a philosophical stance in the study, and a quantitative study technique was used. The study employed a cross-sectional survey design, and the data collection instrument used was a standardised structured questionnaire. The study's population included all academic teaching staff from five Ghanaian technical universities. In all 695 respondents participated in this study. Data was gathered through survey questionnaires, input into Microsoft Excel version 16, and analysed with SPSS version 21.0. The study findings revealed that overall perceived organisational politics had a moderate positive impact on overall psychological well-being of respondents but this impact was not statistically significant in determining the study respondents' overall psychosocial well-being. The study again revealed that respondents who had personality traits means less than 65.90 experienced more psychosocial well-being with less perceived organisational politics, while respondents whose personality traits means were more than 65.90 in this present study experienced less psychosocial well-being. The study recommended that the existing universities status be reviewed, again that more psychologists that are clinical be recruited for the university community as a measure of support to improve staff general wellbeing in Ghana's public technical universities.

Electronic procurement is a relatively new practice in the developed world. Companies that have attempted to implement it have run into fierce internal and external opposition. Examining the drivers and barriers of e-procurement adoption in the banking industry was the study's main goal. The study was strictly descriptive. The data collection method used was a questionnaire. The population of this study was made up of all banking staff in Kumasi. With purposive sampling method, the study sampled 7 banks based on 2020 banking survey. Regression, mean score, standard deviation, and frequencies were among the statistical techniques used in the study. According to the report, e-procurement adoption was motivated by improving data quality, having reliable information, having good relationships with both buyers and suppliers, cutting administrative costs, and minimizing human participation to increase supplier and public confidence. According to the survey, other barriers to the adoption of e-procurement include a bad internet infrastructure, expensive IT infrastructure software, weak business procedures, and a lack of implementation capacity. It has been proven that adoption barriers to e-procurement hinder firm performance. The results of the study also showed a statistically significant positive association between the drivers e-procurement adoption and firm performance. The study also found e-procurement adoption as a moderating variable between the drivers and firm performance. It was recommended that firms train its procurement staff to improve on their procurement skills with e-procurement being the focus and with axillary motive of reducing resistance to change to internal or external customers in supply chain.

Though the term gamification is new, its concept is not new and has been practised for ages in many fields of which marketing is inclusive. However, in the context of advertising, it is about how the gamified scenario is executed message-wise to achieve marketing objectives, which is limited in literature. To help bridge the gap, this research was conducted to unveil how game mechanics used in marketing strategies are executed in advertising design through message approaches. A qualitative method was used. Fourteen video advertisements were purposively selected from four telecommunication networks for this research. It was discovered that setup mechanics, rule mechanics or progression mechanics or both rule and progression mechanics were used in the videos. The advertising message execution tactics that aligned with the mechanics were a slice of life, demonstration and straightforward. However, the research did not explore further the influence of video advertisements from a gamification perspective on the audience which will be ideal for further studies.

Financial considerations are fundamental to the implementation of inclusive education policies. Governments and their education sectors do not generally claim that they can roll-out inclusive education programmes, especially for people with disabilities, with no financial difficulties. This study examined the perspectives of the designers of Ghana's 2015 Inclusive Education (IE) Policy on sources of funding for higher education for people with disabilities in Ghanaian universities. A qualitative approach was adopted with data collected from seven policymakers on the National Steering Committee on Inclusive Education through interviews. The data were thematically analysed and narratively presented. The respondents identified the central government, through its Ministry of Education, development partners, and the universities as the sources of funding for inclusive higher education for people with disabilities. From the perspective of these policymakers, insufficient funding is a primary obstacle to the successful delivery and sustainable implementation of the IE Policy. Over-reliance on donors for policy implementation, the unwillingness of the government to invest in higher education for people with disabilities, and the universities' unwillingness to invest their scarce resources in disability education are also obvious obstacles. It was recommended that the central government should increase the budgetary allocation for the implementation of inclusive education, and avoid over-reliance on donor agencies. It was also suggested that universities generate dedicated funding for inclusion by exploring creative ways and adopting multifaceted approaches to fundraising.

Many rice production interventions that involve the promotion of improved agricultural technologies have been rolled out, yet some of the farmers in Ghana still use indigenous farming practices and farmer innovation systems. This study therefore investigates, ranks and discusses the reasons why farmers prefer to use farmer innovations systems to improved agricultural technologies and vice versa. Kendall's Coefficient of Concordance was used to analyse primary data collected from rice farmers in Ghana. Some farmers prefer using their own innovations to improved agricultural technologies due to low production cost. Conversely, farmers adopt improved agricultural technologies because of high rice yield. It is therefore recommended that, agricultural extension agents, researchers and NGOs should educate farmers for them to know the long run benefits of adopting technologies. Credit support system and contract farming concept should be promoted as these reduce some of the bottlenecks smallholder farmers face in adopting technologies. With these, farmers would be able to afford and be encouraged to adopt improved agricultural technologies to the latter, thereby improving rice productivity.

The research study reviews relevant literature on effect of Christian ethics on employee administration. Corporate ethics and employee organization schemes have grown in numbers and relevance and have gained the attention of several works of literature. However, little is known about how religious values impact the employee management system, predominantly Christian ethics. The study was to find out how Christian ethics influence employee management and address the inadequacy of research studies in the area. The study used an experimental method and gathered data through reviewing relevant documents such as books, articles, and research studies involving qualitative data and analysis using an interpretive approach. The results showed that Christian ethics positively affects employees, health professionals, and employers and could enhance their performance and overall output of the Organization's productivity. The results further revealed that Christian ethical principles beneficial to organizations could be extracted and designated as positive work ethics to be accepted by both Christians and non-Christians to promote ethical conduct and productivity. They could put as written policies as a shared vision. The study recommends that human resource professionals act as guardians to protect their organizations and select employees that align with their organizations' ethics and values. The study concludes that human resource professionals can also train managers to exhibit ethical conduct in a structured formal system to develop a moral climate in the workplace.

An employer's labour expenditures rise as a result of staff turnover, and this in turn has a negative impact on the company's bottom line and its ability to compete. The purpose of the study is to examine the influence of job satisfaction on turnover intentions in the hotel sector. Both extrinsic and intrinsic job satisfaction, as well as employee turnover intentions, were examined in this quantitative and correlational research on staff providing front desk and customer service in Ghanaian hotels. The study is quantitative, crosssectional and correlational one and sample size is 170. Overall, it was found that both intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfactions have significant positive effect on both voluntary and involuntary turnover intentions. Managers of hotels must ensure that their front desk staff are satisfied always to curb the exit of staff to other firms or industries. Whilst job satisfaction is a positive concept, turnover is a negative concept. Overall, job satisfaction reduces intention to leave.

IoT devices have fundamental security flaws that leave them open to a variety of security threats and attacks, including attacks from botnets. Therefore, creators of botnets continue to take advantage of the security vulnerabilities inherent in IoT devices to control many host devices on networks to launch cyber attacks on their target systems. The ongoing development of techniques to evade and obfuscate existing
detection and security procedures makes it difficult to discover IoT bot vulnerabilities. The experimental results show that our 1D neuron-based model produced a higher prediction in terms of overall classification accuracy over the two models. It was further noted that our model's performance was superior to those of earlier studies on deep learning-based IoT botnet detection.

It was discovered that set-up mechanics, rule mechanics or progression mechanics or both rule and progression mechanics were used in the videos.

This study, therefore, investigates, ranks and discusses the reasons why farmers prefer to use farmer innovations systems to improved agricultural technologies and vice versa. Kendall’s Coefficient of Concordance was used to analyse primary data collected from rice farmers in Ghana. Some farmers prefer using their own innovations to improved agricultural technologies due to low production cost. Conversely, farmers adopted improved agricultural technologies because of the high rice yield. It is therefore recommended that, agricultural extension agents, researchers and NGOs should educate farmers for them to know the long run benefits of adopting technologies. Credit support system and contract farming concept should be promoted as these reduce some of the bottlenecks smallholder farmers face in adopting technologies. With these, farmers would be able to afford and be encouraged to adopt improved agricultural technologies to the latter, thereby improving rice productivity

A design which allows each subject to receive several different allocations of treatments sequences is one at a time at different period for studying differences between treatments is termed as Crossover Design. It is a usable tool in several fields that can be talked about like clinical trials, pharmaceutical investigations. The new algorithm was introduced for design construction for balanced incomplete sequence crossover design. From the designs constructed, a treatment appears before other treatments k-1 number of time with equal replication. All treatments and number of times of occurrence of pair of treatment are the same which made designs to be universally optimal. Also, two subclasses were used to verify the design optimality. It shows that construction method algorithm can generate all elements of number of treatments which primitive element (root) satisfies

The purpose of the study is to estimate electricity demand response potential in the residential sector by using the security condition of the grid. Three hundred households in the Sunyani municipality were used in the study. The 300 households were selected to typically represent the different types of homes in Ghana. The study explores the feasibility of using demand response in the residential sector as an alternative shortto-medium term measure for maintaining grid security during critical periods of supply constraints. Using consumer preference surveys, data on customer response motivation concerning three factors namely, cost (price), environment and security (risk of blackouts), was collected together with energy audit information about residential customers' energy use activities during morning, afternoon and evening hours. Hourly load profiles of major household appliances were estimated using data logging and information on how customers would modify their energy use in a hypothetical supply constraint situation was also collected. The study estimated the potential reduction in demand using the Maximum Diversified Demand (MDD) modeling. Survey results show that residential consumers are willing to reduce their energy consumption to avoid a blackout though, they consider the price of electricity as the foremost reason that influences reduction in energy use. The modeling results show a 6.8%, 4.3% and a 13.6% voluntary reduction in demand for the morning, afternoon and evening respectively in an event of a threat of blackout if the information on the state of the grid is well communicated to households.

The main objective of this study is to do an assessment of how Savings and Loans companies have contributed to the poverty alleviation as well as finding out how they economically empower microbusinesses in the Ghanaian economic space. The study chose the Cape Coast Metropolitan area, a major economic hub in Ghana as its case study. Using the Sustainable Livelihoods Approach theory, the study also adopted the mixed method in data collection and analysis. In the study, a total number of 288 respondents in the field were used. The results include among others that Savings and Loans companies have significantly alleviated poverty in the Metropolis; thereby, lifting the poor segments of the Metropolis from the cycle of poverty through the creation of jobs and the generation of income. Finally, it is recommended among others that due to the nature of the businesses of low-income customers, there is the need for loan officers to make regular visits to customers to ensure that the relationship with borrowers are strengthened thereby encouraging them to do quick repayments and at the same time helping in gathering information on the state of the businesses which would also promote a lower default rate.

This paper examined earnings management and liquidity constraints nexus in the Ghanaian Banking sector. The paper investigated how liquidity constraint scenario could explain dynamics in earnings management activities. The study was motivated by the dearth of evidence about liquidity constraints and earnings nexus which may not only breed obscurity in bank regulatory capital and uncertainty in regulatory environment but also inimical to the achievement of bank sustainability in the Ghanaian economy. The paper used data from 20 banks in Ghana with data sourced from audited financial statements of these banks spanning from 2008 to 2020. To ascertain liquidity constrained based data, the paper created liquidity constraint scenario through simulation approach. The paper employed Generalised Method of Moment (GMM) as the primary estimation technique while Fixed Effect (FE) specification was used for the robustness check. The study observed a strong positive relationship between banks' liquidity constraints and earnings management activities which could set stage for aggressive financial reporting and the window dressing of financial reports in constraint scenario to signal positive financial health. The implication is that unexposed liquidity constraints could breed obscurity in bank regulatory capital and uncertainty in regulatory environment. It is recommended that Bank of Ghana should be circumspect and scrutinize earnings in capital regulatory adjustment. Investors and analysts should recognise additional pre-diagnostics according to financial constraint scenarios in constructing investment portfolio base on earnings model to remove possible noise in the earnings of banks prior to relying on earnings data for investment decision.
