This essay delves into the dynamics of dominance and resistance in 19th-century South Carolina slavery. Analyzing works by historians Eugene Genovese and Drew Faust, it discusses the enslavers’ efforts to suppress African cultural heritage and enforce dependency, contrasting this with the enslaved's subtle forms of resistance. Case studies, including James Henry Hammond's plantation, illustrate how enslaved individuals preserved autonomy, defying the dehumanizing system through sabotage and cultural retention. This study reveals the complex relationship between enslaver and enslaved as a battleground of covert struggle and resilience, challenging the notion of passive submission to the oppressive power of slavery.

The Kapsch Group, headquartered in Vienna, Austria, is an international information technology and telecommunications company. The historical and practical basis for what is a fictitious offer of human resource management services by a hypothetical consulting firm is outlined in this paper. Fundamentally, I argue that there is a deep sense of urgency for the company to act quickly to transform its human resource division and develop a performance management system that is of exceptional quality. Failure to do so could mean the Kapsch Group would be inevitably weakened and left behind at a time that it would simultaneously be seeking to expand into Eastern Europe.

It is the year 1990 and Hiram is an undergraduate student taking a New Testament studies course. He has no significant evidence as yet supporting that Matthew’s Gospel outweighs Mark’s in establishing an effective identity, ethical framework, and ethos for its community.
Hiram had read both gospels carefully but is frustrated that the subtle differences along these lines elude him. He grows concerned when the professor asks the class to write a 10-page paper comparing Matthew’s interpretation or conception of the law with that of Mark’s.
Fortunately, Hiram has a friend, Vadim, who is a former Russian Orthodox monk and quite knowledgeable. He gives him a call and Vadim happily agrees to help him. They meet at a local Irish pub a couple of days later to discuss what's on Hiram's mind.
