New: The social platform Pinterest has partnered with the Dotdash Meredith brand Real Simple to create a shoppable magazine using QR codes. The tie-up is the latest example of how the logic of retail media is influencing digital media, as publishers strive to find ways to demonstrate their role in driving purchase behavior. Thanks to Malik Ducard and Lauren Iannotti for the insights. My latest for ADWEEK: https://lnkd.in/e-DtT-y4 #media #advertising

ICYMI - Big news this week: we're incredibly excited to announce our partnership with OpenAI! This partnership will use DDM's content archive to develop new OpenAI products and improve our groundbreaking ad-targeting solution, D/Cipher. Check out the Axios article below for more:
BIG: Dotdash Meredith, one of the largest digital publishers in the country, has inked a licensing deal and strategic partnership with OpenAI — Deal includes licensing archive to train OpenAI algorithms and strategic partnership to develop new products — In a first for digital media, OpenAI says it will help Dotdash Meredith use AI tools to improve its ad-targeting solution D/Cipher — Why it matters: This is a big, bold move from CEO Neil Vogel, Jonathan Roberts, Meredith Worsham and team. Dotdash is reliant on advertising traffic from intent-based search queries. GenAI is expected to have a significant impact on publishers who rely on that type of traffic.
