Our youth team continues to make waves in schools across the country with our Alternative Routes Programme, which aims to: 1) Raise awareness about issues that impact young people. 2) Build resilience by teaching young people how to navigate and tackle the challenges they may face. 3) Provide culturally sensitive therapy to those in need. This time around, we’ve been engaging with pupils from Year 8 to 11 at Solihull Academy through workshops and mentoring. What sets our youth team apart is not just their ‘lived experience’ but also their qualifications, rooted in our vision of bridging the gap between academia and the streets. The SOLVE way 🌎

Our CEO Craig Pinkney and colleagues were honoured to attend the pivotal ‘Protecting Young Black Lives, Celebrating Black Professionals’ event last October, part of a significant two-year collaboration with Power The Fight and Durham University’s Contextual Safeguarding Programme. The resulting report, launched just now, is a milestone in acknowledging the intersection of racism and safeguarding. It’s a call to action, underscoring the vital role of Black professionals in shaping safe futures for young Black people. Craig notes, “I’ve known Ben Lindsay OBE for over 13 years and I’m so proud of him! His work with Power The Fight resonates deeply with our mission at SOLVE. To support and be part of this narrative shift alongside Professor Carlene Firmin expertise is invaluable. It’s all about unity, action, and continuous support.” As the conversation from last October takes shape into actionable insights, we’re reminded that our collective efforts are crucial for progress. The SOLVE team were at Woodfield Primary School in Coventry for an amazing day. Craig Pinkney our CEO, connected with over 35 incredible young minds, delivering a session that wove kindness and mindset into physical challenges, like press-up contests. Woodfield Primary aims to lead the nation as an SEMH school, and our engagement is part of our commitment to work with a wide spectrum of educational settings. Today, the SOLVE team were at Oscott Academy delivering our transformative 'Alternative Routes' session. Facilitated by peer mentor Kareem W and our CEO Craig Pinkney the session was a profound journey of reflection and growth for the young attendees. Kareem shared his personal story of overcoming challenges and transitioning into a youth work practitioner, covering essential topics such as mindset, mental health, wellbeing, conflict resolution, and peer pressure. The session was emotive and impactful, with excellent feedback from participants. A massive shoutout to Mr Dance and the Oscott staff team for their warm welcome each year. The SOLVE way 🌎✨

We've wrapped up an impactful first service day with Croydon! Dr. Lizzie Fitzmaurice and our CEO, Craig Pinkney guided a reflective session that's a hallmark of SOLVE's ethos. They engaged professionals from various services within Croydon in discussions on burnout, the importance of self-care, professional growth, and trauma-informed care for young people. It was a day that sparked deep reflection, setting the stage for an upcoming comprehensive feedback session with service heads. A heartfelt thanks to Leana and her team for the trust placed in SOLVE CYVC to provide support over the next 12 months.
