Imran Khan Was To Play Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor's Role In Thar But He 'Was Very Actively Dealing With...'

You might remember the Netflix flick Thar, with Anil Kapoor playing a cop alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh and his son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. Well, it turns out Imran Khan was meant to play Harsh's part originally. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Imran revealed why he decided to step away from the project.

Imran Khan has been away from the movie scene for a while now, but fans are still eager for his return. He explained in the interview that he had to back out of a few films back then. One of them was Thar. He said, “I was in early discussions for a film which I think ended up being called Thar. I started to step back from it. I never made a formal announcement about quitting acting. These were also years when I was dealing with depression.”

During a chat with Film Companion, Imran Khan was asked if he had found any scripts he liked after reading many. He was also questioned about when the famous hashtag 'laut aaun Imran' (come back Imran) would come true. Imran shared that he's still thinking about returning to acting and public life.

He's been talking about creative ideas and has found some things he's interested in. But he hasn't got any offers for films that are ready to go and that he feels a strong connection with. Some offers need more work before they're ready to start filming.
