Peterborough marked their return to League One with a convincing opening day win against Bristol Rovers.
Former Bristol City boss Gary Johnson saw his side break the deadlock after half-time as George Boyd drilled a low shot past keeper Mikkel Andersen.
Aaron Mclean doubled Posh's lead after rounding Andersen and finding the net from close range.
Skipper Grant McCann made it three late on with a direct free-kick to give his side a perfect start to the season.
Peterborough manager Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire:
"I've been saying all week that we would have to be patient, I watched Bristol a few times in pre-season and I thought they looked competitive and strong.
"We felt that we are a fit team and a strong team and that we have a bit of quality, but we felt something would drop for us, it did and it finished quite comfortable.
"There's a long way to go yet but you couldn't have wrote a book about a better start."
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol:
"I thought we were in the ascendancy as the half-time whistle blew, and we really thought we could go on and win the game.
"They stepped up a gear and we didn't control the tempo which we did in the first half, and we gave away too many needless free kicks.
"You have to convert your chances, especially away from home against a good side who will be up there this season."
