Boyd has scored 10 goals for Peterborough this season
Peterborough winger George Boyd is set for a call up to Scotland's B squad after obtaining proof his maternal grandfather was born in Glasgow.
The 23-year-old, who was born in Chatham, told his club website: "Any international recognition is great.
"I didn't really know about the Scottish interest until the beginning of the week.
"I think (playing for) England is a bit far-fetched, so this is a great opportunity for me."
Scotland play a B international against Northern Ireland on 6 May and manager George Burley has had his options limited due to Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hearts and Hibernian all playing on the following evening.
Burley had also agreed not to include any first team regulars from Rangers and Celtic, since the Old Firm rivals meet at the weekend.
