Led a group from Hong Kong into Sichuan China for a week to help in the rebuilding process of a small township 1 hour northwest of Chengdu. Worked with the local team on the ground to lay foundations to what would eventually be 3 large bed/breakfasts in a scenic area in Sichuan.

Over a 3 year period, helped and eventually oversaw the rebuilding of Purag Riverside community in Barcolad, which was once flooded underwater and a shantytown. This was a partnership between ICM and Gawad Kalinga, which worked with the "poorest of the poor" all over the Philippines. Currently, over 100+ houses exist there with proper drainage. Worked with locals (either future or existing residents of the new houses) to lay foundation and build the new residences. Also visited local…

It was the biggest PXF transaction not only for an Indonesian corporate, but for all of Asia. Structure was tightly ring-fenced by share pledge of the operating companies as well as floating charge over assets of the operating companies. The parent APRIL provided a corporate guarantee as well. The tight structure and attractive pricing attracted a diversified pool of banks…

Global Trade Review (GTR) and Trade Finance Magazine (Euromoney)
Banco Santander and WestLB as book runners, JLA and Underwriters, successfully closed a $470MM USD facility for Bahia Specialty Cellulose. The financing was structured as a pre-export facility, the first of its kind for an Asian borrower in Latin America, secured by mortgage, export receivables, and a pledged collection account. Latin American assets of the borrower was used as collateral and was oversubscribed by Asian, multinational and latin american banks combined.
