Google Drive Review

Google Drive
Our score: 9.0 User satisfaction: 98%

What is Google Drive?

Google Drive is the world’s most popular cloud storage system offering that enables you to store your documents, photos, music, videos etc. all in one place.

It automatically syncs all your data with your mobile devices and your computer, meaning every device that is linked to your account receives the updates and shows the changes you have made. For individual users who require basic sharing capacity and storage up to 15 GB, Google Drive comes for free. The most you can pay for it is $299.99 for 30 TB of storage.

Google Drive monitors your changes too for the past 30 days, enabling you to go back and redo/undo the changes you made. The platform relies heavily on Google search and makes use of familiar Google features such as  image recognition for browsing your photos and some OCR capabilities for sniffing out text in pictures.

Overview of Google Drive Benefits

As Google Drive is a cloud-based application, you can easily access everything from any computer or mobile if you have internet connectivity. Google Drive is very user-friendly and is a great option for businesses in search of a reliable office suite, yet do not have the funds to invest in expensive office programs. Google Drive comes with the tools and features that have proven to be great for business collaboration and internal communication, such as Google Calendar, Hangouts and more. What this means is that with a single Google account, you will be able to manage all of your contacts and business needs using a variety of handy system.

The core value of Google Drive is that it offers sufficient storage at no added cost. You have massive storage capacity already in your hands, meaning you can store a lot of files without losing any space. Except of sharing your files with other users, Google Drive will allow you to search among them, and edit them online, individually or in a group. Then, if you need to purchase additional GBs, you’ll be happy to know that you can get 100GB for just $1.99 a month. If you are using it for personal purposes and need no more than 15 GB storage, Google Drive won’t charge you for the service.

But perhaps Google Drive’s greatest selling point is that it works well with third-party business apps, making it a popular cloud-based storage and sharing application for individuals and businesses alike. There are hundreds of reputed business systems and applications already embedded on the list, and the number is continuing to grow.

PROS: Google Drive is best for sharing and storing large files! It's performing so much better than any cloud storage I've ever used. I use it for work and personal matters. I love the integration with other applications such as Shutterfly, and of course, other Google apps. It's a secure way to store your files -- better than storing it in your local hard disk.

CONS: Navigating through multiple folders is a bit confusing sometimes. I also hope they could provide bigger free storage. Connecting with Amazon S3 would be awesome as well!

PROS: Google Drive is perfect for collabs and teamwork. It can store different files in a different format. It's a secure cloud storage, you don't have to worry about privacy and stuff.

CONS: You have to be a Gmail user to be able to fully use all the Google Drive functions. It also adjusts the formatting of an MS Word file if you upload it and start working on it online.

It can store images, videos, and online documents such as Google Forms and Google Slide! Sharing documents is easier now because of this. It's accessible in any device and the documents sync in real-time.

CONS: Google Drive doesn't have an offline version like that of Google Docs. I hope there's a way to access files even if we're not connected to the internet.

PROS: Intuitive app? Check! Accessible? Check! Easy integration with other apps? Check! Google Drive allows users to store different types of files and it also allows users to create and work on documents online. It also made the sharing of large files possible.

CONS: Tagging or categorizing the folders can be an added feature so that searching will be easier. Right now, there is no filter, and searching for a particular file can be tricky. Also, it requires the user to have a Gmail account so it can be a little inconvenient when I'm trying to work with a non-Gmail user.

PROS: I use Google Drive on a daily basis, everything is clouded and I’m able to do my work from my PC and to save my work on Google Drive account. There is great integration with other Google tools as well. We use gmail and Drive’s built-in features are extremely helpful for us because it automatically attach or saves the attachments to Drive. The integration with Chrome is also great.

CONS: In my opinion, the functionality of Google Docs and Sheets are more limited than Microsoft’s, but I believe this is only a case if you do not have an access to MO suite.

PROS: I like how easily I can contribute and edit a document and work on some files with multiple people. We don’t have to download documents to edit them we can do this online. This tool allows me to share videos and pictures without sending them one by one. It is easy to use and it saves all documents so you don’t have to keep them on your desktop. You are able to invite people and so they can use your database.

CONS: The Word has more functions than Google Docs, and when copy/paste it doesn’t look like what you’ve copied. Also, when starting new documents and uploading a word file it automatically opens new document for that file, this can be really frustrating though.

PROS: Being an online service you can access the files from any PC entering the account. It has a virtual hard drive where you can work freely, almost anywhere. You only need internet access, also you can share files with anyone without needing to be added to the mail. When sharing files, you should not work on the same file at the same time, as it causes conflicts and two copies of the file are created.

CONS: When sharing files, you should not work on the same file at the same time, since it causes conflicts and two copies of the file are created, you should have a giant warning that the file is in use to avoid creating multiple copies of the same file

PROS: First of all, Google Drive is easy to use tool and its interface is clean and straightforward. It allows you to create and edit documents, to choose who can see and edit folders, documents and files. The search engine is strong. It allows you to access files from any mobile device. You can do things with one click and share them with your partners. The other good thing is that if you need to send big image, video or document to Gmail it automatically uploads it to the drive and sends it.

CONS: There is no possibility to upload things from Safari, I don’t want to use Chrome so much because it’s slow. Also, the version that requires downloading takes lot of space. And they could improve the Apple support as well.

All you have to do is to set it up and upload the files. The files are stored into the cloud and you have free backup and usage. In my opinion, 15GB is great amount of space to use for your files to be backed up and you can always buy more.

The good thing is that whenever someone edits the file it shows up in real-time on drive document. Also, this tool has lot of storage space than Dropbox. All I have to do is to open the files in Drive and to organize them the way I want. Also, there is easy integration with other file-sharing platforms with Drive. I’m able to keep Docs, Sheets and Forms, jpgs and PDFs within the Google Drive cloud.

CONS: It takes some time to understand how to organize files and docs, but it can be really helpful if you use Gmail then you won’t have some problems. What I don’t like is that I have to constantly go through and clean things because I can never know what’s there.
