Name a movie that made you cry and I'll let you know if I cried too 🥹

I'm a Cancer Sun, Moon, Venus and Jupiter. Everyone keeps saying Cancers are crybabies, so I want to put it to the test.

Name a movie or movies that made you cry (teary eyed counts!). If I cried too, then you get a point. If I didn't cry, then I get a point.

If I haven't seen the movie, then I'll put it on my summer watch list.

First impressions of your big 6 (and words that people would use to describe it)

I thought it would be fun if people commented their big 6 or big 3 and other people say what their first impressions of them would be, or what words would sum up a person with that big 6. Astrology is such a fun way to learn about yourself and others so I love posts like this and apologize if this has been asked before.

Full disclosure I am someone who enjoys reading these but I am very busy and very curious at the same time which is hard to balance. So as much as I hate calling myself a 'lurker' like I'm some haggard creature lurking in the midst, I tend to prefer lurking on these threads and just seeing what people have to say. (tl;dr I'm shy but I love to learn).

Thanks in advance to all who participate.

The Lunstice of January 2025

The title is properly spelled Lunistice, and applies to a standstill of the Moon

The term Lunar Standstill, or Lunistice, refers to a phenomenon where the moon appears to halt in its path across the sky. This occurs over an 18.6-year cycle and was observed by the Celts and the Mayans among others.

The moon's declination, shifts from a minimum to a maximum and back again during this cycle. From an esoteric standpoint, a lunar standstill is essentially a pause in the moon's regular cycle, a moment of stillness that can offer insights for those attuned to its energy.

The Major Standstill occurs only when the North Node is in Aries.; The swings are at their widest, over 29 degrees of declination – the furthest of any "planet".

When the North Node transits through Libra, we have the Minor Standstill, and the swings have their smallest amplitude, reaching just over 18 degrees of declination.

The last major lunar standstill was in 2006, and the next one will be in 2025. The last minor lunar standstill was in October 2015, and the next one will be in 2034.

During a major standstill, the moon reaches its maximum declination, causing it to rise and set at its most extreme points on the horizon. The monthly range of lunar Declination changes very little from 2005-2007 and also from 2023-2026. Also during this time, the monthly range of moonrise and moonset directions changes little. The fact that there are slight changes in the outer extremes of monthly range of rising and setting directions for ~3 years is what leads to the use of the term Standstill.

Since it takes 14 days between the maximum northern and southern points, the Moon's daily changes in position are quite dramatic at this time. It will reach its maximum declination for 2 - 5 days twice a month for about 3 years around the time of the major standstill.

Now, Soltice means 'standstill of the Sun' and refers to the fact that the Sun's Declination changes little for the ~2 weeks around solstice. The sunrise and sunset directions change little over this time as well.

The moon does in a month what the Sun does in a Year

The Sun's annual Cycle in changing Sunrise direction behaves like a Pendulum. The sunrise direction changes rapidly, daily, near the Equinox, like the rapid motion of a pendulum at mid-swing, and there is a stopping or 'standstill' at solstice, like the outer limit of the swing of a pendulum.

From month to month within the 18.6-year cycle, the Moon spends more time with the monthly range of rising and setting at the outer extremes (major standstill) and at the inner extremes (minor standstill) than at the middle extremes.

Stonehenge, Callanish, and Chaco Canyon mark these Lunar Standstills.

The Moon's 18.6-year cycle peaks in 2006 and 2024-25 (and every 18.6 years thereafter), with observable consequences extending for at least 3 years around the peak year(s).

So What ? And, Why Bother ?

Now, combine this with the Geometry of the configuration that occurs in 2026 - a minor grand trine of Pluto, Neptune and Uranus with the additional testimony of Jupiter in Leo—and it becomes striking.

The configuration comes in July 2026, just a few months after a conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at 0° Aries, the first degree of the entire zodiac: talk about new beginnings.

hii! curious about how the sun, moon, and venus signs interact and how they impact the type of people we're attracted to

for example:
i'm a cap sun, cancer moon, and sag venus

typically attracted to really smart people - like big brain = hot

  • I think that's my sag venus that gets bored really easily that needs an infinitesimal amount of mental stimulation

usually i crush on my profs lol

  • my cap sun wanting to be daddy AND wanting a daddy 😭

in terms of signs - i'm a sucker for water signs but most of the time i get burned by them 🥲 (hello pisces boys)

  • oh yes the water signs reflecting back my inner depths that i refuse to acknowledge but can't help but see a mirrored self through them

Do you ever feel more connected with one deck vs the other? I recently got a new deck and it’s a completely different feeling than my other one. Do you keep decks that you don’t really connect with in the moment?

Ethics about... "Parasites"?

This is a very strange question so please bear with me.

The obvious answer is of course not allowing them to "feed off you". But what I was wondering about is if we are "obligated" to give, assuming that we are able to handle it.

A few years ago, one of my school teachers shared this story about a girl who just STARED at the mosquito as it drank her blood. My teacher was understandably confused: "Why didn't you slap it?" Apparently the girl answered with "it's hungry" or something along the lines of that, and my teacher felt like she saw an angel.

Assuming you are aware you wouldn't get malaria or whatever, it's only an itch for you, but it could "save" their whole family (I'm exaggerating) - would you be willing to give?

This applies to household pests, such as cockroaches as well. If there isn't a serious infestation and you practically don't see them, and if your food never gets contaminated and items never ruined, it's sort of just co-existing with you. In this case, is there really a need for killing them off?

Similarly when you see an insect or animal show up in your house. If you just throw them out back into the nature, one way to say it is "let fate decide", the other way is "I am not responsible for this life whether or not it lives". If we change this to a HUMAN showing up at your house obviously distressed and hurt or otherwise incredibly lost, I feel that most decent human beings would call the police or ambulance. I'm not suggesting that insect = human, all I'm saying is it's a life, and I don't see why we discriminate. Most would help a sick cat (I think?), but I don't know many who would care about a cockroach.

What is our responsibility when it comes to providing "safe havens" for the nature? Is it just a boundaries thing, where you do your best within your resources and limits?

Life cannot exist without "consuming" another life. We learn this with food chains and webs in science classes when we were kids. Do all life not have equal rights to existence? I'm not sure if household pests were a thing before humanity destroyed earth, but it's OUR problem if an animal shows up "where they shouldn't be" - we destroyed their homeland. Is to then kill them off for "intruding" not genocide?

I know that the 6 house is mostly about health but is there any patterns or placements you have seen that indicates you could be sick in this lifetime?

What exactly are "outer court skills" in Western occultism? Or with respect to Quareia specifically?

What exactly are "outer court skills" in Western occultism? Or with respect to Quareia specifically?

I've seen Josephine use this phrase a couple of times, and (since I don't know much about Western occultism) I am completely mystified about what this actually means.

As far as I can make out it is something - a burch of skills- that an aspirant learns/achieves before they step into real magic.

Is this understanding correct? Is there a list (doesn't have to be a definitive list, just looking for an example) of such skills/activities somewhere?

Are the skills acquired in module 1 outer court skills?

My google fu is failing me todoy, so I thought I'd ask here!

Help a fellow student from non western culture!

Thanks in advance
