Ana Cláudia Paiva-Santos obtained her Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology in 2018. She started her pedagogical intervention as a Teaching Assistant during her Ph.D., and then became an Invited Assistant Professor. Since 2020, she has been an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (FFUC), where she teaches Pharmaceutical Technology and Nanotechnology. Since 2021, she has been the Responsible Professor of Dermopharmacy and Cosmetics at her faculty and university. She has been the ERASMUS+ Outgoing Coordinator since 2020, and the Student Support Office Coordinator of the FFUC since 2021. She is invited frequently by the cosmetic industry to perform skin formulation talks and teaches Dermocosmetics. She is a researcher at REQUIMTE/LAQV, and her research is focused on natural-product-based biomimetic nanosized biomaterials for cancer, including pancreatic and skin cancer, and also wound healing. She has published over 120 papers and 12 book chapters in nanotechnology and nanomedicine and submitted one patent application as a result of work with several national and international collaborations. She is among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2022 as ranked by Stanford University. Her research topics mainly include nanotechnology, nanocarriers, drugs, cosmetics, skin, natural compounds, pancreatic cancer, cutaneous melanoma, nanoparticles, micelles, halloysite clay nanotubes, and resveratrol.
