Today, the two-day opening celebration for #Hagastaden's crown jewel culminated in a joint inauguration by the Swedish and Danish royal families. Life science and the study of living organisms and life processes play a key role in addressing health and societal challenges. With the new Hagastaden neighbourhood in the northern part of Stockholm, the ambition is to create one of the worldโs leading ecosystems within the sciences. #Forskaren is the heart of the area, bringing together #industry, #research, #academia and the #public under one roof. โInnovation often happens when people and their disciplines meet,โ says Jan Ammundsen, Head of Design and Senior Partner at 3XN. โWith Forskaren, we wanted to create a vibrant and collaborative life science environment. The building is designed for people to meet and see each other and for established and start-up companies to contribute to each otherโs development.โ We're very proud to have developed Forskaren with our visionary partners at Vectura Fastigheter. This years forum will be centered around the theme of โJenseits von Ohnmacht / Beyond Powerlessโ. In a world filled with challenges, uncertainty, and sometimes seemingly insurmountable obstacles, feeling โpowerlessโ often seems omnipresent. But beyond this powerlessness lies a vast space of possibility; a space in which we discover strength, regain hope and find the ability to act. During his speech at the previous forum in Zuoz, former President of Germany, Joachim Gauck, reminded us that, while our world is facing multiple crises, art can and should play a central role for positive change and a sustainable future. Coming from the fields of science, art, music, film, and architecture, this yearโs participants lead their respective fields internationally. We offer a programme full of impulses, ideas and conversations around the subject of โJenseits von Ohnmacht โ Beyond Powerlessโ and we look forward to sharing this collective experience with you. Innovating Space with #Zusatzraum - Opportunities for Global Collaboration ๐โจ I am thrilled to share an initiative close to my heart - #Zusatzraum, a project born from the challenge of space constraints in education and research institutions. ๐ Like many of you, I have witnessed how inadequate space can hinder the pace and quality of academic activities. In response, my colleagues and I embarked on crafting an innovative solution designed for our community and the global sphere of academia. After vigorous and creative development, we're proud to present #Zusatzraum (www.zusatz-raum.de/en/). It's more than a concept; it's a reality that offers additional, easily accessible spaces dedicated to learning and research without the traditional expansion constraints. Its adaptive design allows for a substantial increase in capacity with minimal disruption and a remarkably low carbon footprint. The joy doubles as #Zusatzraum paves the way for international cooperation and a culture of shared knowledge โ outcomes that stretch beyond our initial vision. The concept has already been welcomed by several international partners, proving its potential to leave a profound global footprint. If space restrictions are restricting your institution's growth, consider #Zusatzraum. It could be the game-changer you need. I am keen to explore joint ventures and expand this conversation. Your insights and the potential for collaboration excite me! I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts! #Zusatzraum #OpenScience #Collaboration #Academia #Innovation #Education #Research #SpaceSolution #GlobalImpact Julius Spรคte Katharina Miller Lara Fahlbusch Doris Weรels Prof. Dr. Tobias Schmohl Lara Kolbert Martyn Rawson Marie Alavi Sabine Reisas

#MetropoliaNauki Conference Invitation: SAUL 2023: REVISIONS AND VISIONS, DIAGNOSIS, CHALLENGES. KATOWICE, POLAND, 29.06 โ 01.07.2023 Call for Participants Conference languages: Polish and English. Registration form: https://lnkd.in/dk_wmtB2 Deadline: 28.06.2023 Conference formula: roundtable discussions, but speeches with presentations are also welcome. PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE IS FREE OF CHARGE.. DESCRIPTION: In many sources devoted to contemporary cultures and world economies, the changes taking place in recent decades, which are based on digital innovations, are often referred to as the fourth technological revolution. It is characterized by the widespread automation of manufacturing processes, data processing and exchange, new ways of working and the roles of people in the economy. Although societies are still getting used to the transformation mentioned above, it has already received criticism and a new version sanctioned in official policies and documents (e.g. of the European Union), referred to as transformation 5.0. The latest version is focused on three main pillars: human-centric, sustainable and resilient. The basis of version 5.0 are recently diagnosed crises, primarily social, spatial and ecological ones, which were caused or intensified by the fourth industrial revolution and cannot be solved within the framework of the tools it offers. During this yearโs conference, we want to examine the situation of culture, science, education and inter-institutional cooperation in the contexts mentioned above, of crises, challenges and technological revolutions. We want to study the spatial and environmental effects of these revolutions and the predictions for the future. We are interested in looking at the conditions of โdoingโ science, education and cooperation with the environment that representatives of individual scientific disciplines and practitioners are currently facing and will face (by choice or necessity) in the face of the progressive digitization of the economy. We would like to ask a question about the role and level of interdisciplinarity in designing the broadly understood living environment and assess to what extent it allows the well-being of organisms living in it to be maintained. Key-speakers (stationary): Andrew Witt (Harvard University), Michael Fowler (TU Berlin). Andrew Wittโs open lectures registration (June 29, 13.00 and 17.00) available at the link: https://lnkd.in/dNNwyt9Z Link to register is also available under the link: https://lnkd.in/dtE7RkuV Michael Fowlerโs open lectures registration (June 30, 15.15 and 4.07, 12.00) available at the link: https://lnkd.in/dVW7JmBE
