Last year, Tarik watch partied almost every challengers game. The DSG / moist watch parties were so fun.
Even though it was obvious that m80 and Guard were the top 2 contenders for Ascension, there were intriguing storylines (TTR beating G2, Moist and Oxygen’s rise, Yay)
This year, no one is really watching the games except Sean Gares on occasion. It feels like the hype has definitely decreased… but the actual matches are juicy because it’s not obvious who the top 2 are.
QoR beat Oxygen. TTR beat MxS today. TTR beat m80. Who is winning??
With Masters heading into the Final 4. Which team/s impressed you and which team/s disappointed you?
For me, FPX and FUT are the teams that impressed me. FPX really gave the fight against FUT, GenG and TH, plus I'm impressed with their triple Controller lineup with Clove. Didn't expect FUT to have a deep Playoff run but it's nice seeing them in top form.
As for the teams that disappointed me, it was Leviatán, Fnatic and EDG. I really thought Leviatán would make it, but they really just relied on hero plays from Aspas and Mazino, EDG looked like they took their Playoff spot for granted, and as for Fnatic, I can under losing to GenG, but they shouldn't have lost to FUT.

This is a partial sequel to from 4 years ago. There have been a lot more events and participants since then, so it takes even more time to make these now. It's no longer feasible for me to include all of the players that I'd like to, but I wanted to share what I have!
The overlapping squares are sorted by season, top left is season 1, bottom right is season 4. That does mean that the season 4 squares only represent 1-2 events, but it looks pretty, so I'm ok with it. The actual "average" in the middle is unaffected by me separating out the seasons a little.
I pulled specific shades of each color from the current team mascot icons. It was either that or base it off name colors, but I thought this way would look better.
Non-canon events are included since the distinction/game balancing doesn't really matter for this particular statistic!

With proper coming second yet again in another final, he joins the conservation alongside carpe as a player who performs well and then loses in the final a lot.
Also, he’s arguably better than carpe.
So does that mean carpe takes the second place for being the best player that comes second a lot?
All this to say, carpe is second yet again
If my memory serves me correctly, that trio was scary good and I thought they were gonna go on to find a lot of success or am I wrong and it wasn’t working?

So starting any round (not game) with unbalanced teams still immediately ends the game. How on earth is this not getting addressed in the very next patch after it was introduced?

Best overall caster - Shogun. CJCJ is runner up here, but I give the nod to Shogun because whilst CJCJ shines with any partner, Shogun *elevates* any partner.
Best solo caster - JohnnyBoi. Honestly don't think this one is super close, he can carry a broadcast on his own better than anybody, does great colour and analysis both.
Best NA caster - Jorby. Could legit hype up A4 vs foolscap (these are paper sizes). Massive energy, brilliant voice. Love him.
Best duo/most shippable - Stumpy/Cole. Incredible chemistry. Feels like they are just two entertaining guys watching rocket league and somebody made a TV show out of it without telling them who may or may not be married IRL.
Best caster who's still an active pro: AppJack. Of all the rocket league channels that are mostly just playing the game, AppJack's is by far the best.
Best "as captivating as a car crash" takes that don't make sense and you don't like but you can't look away: TBates. I don't know where that man gets his mind-altering chemicals but they must be incredible.
Best guy who Psyonix should throw money at to cast an adults-only stream of RLCS: Turbo. I just want to watch RLCS and it's Turbo roasting absolutely everybody.
