Jesus Outside the New Testament: An Introduction to the Ancient Evidence

Front Cover
Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing, Apr 13, 2000 - Religion - 248 pages

Did Jesus actually exist? Much has been written recently on this subject, including numerous books examining the New Testament record of Jesus' life. Now Robert Van Voorst presents and critiques the ancient evidence outside the New Testament--the Roman, Jewish, pre-New Testament, and post-New Testament writings that mention Jesus.

This fascinating study of the early Christian and non-Christian record includes fresh translations of all the relevant texts. Van Voorst shows how and to what extent these ancient writings can be used to help reconstruct the historical Jesus.

No pictures!
248 pages and not a single photo of this Jesus guy!
I was expecting at least some black and white photos.
I understand that not all Roman soldiers had cameras on their phones back then
, but one of them must have had a little black and white camera or maybe even a polaroid?
"Jesus Selfie"...that would have been the kinda cool thing that a Roman soldier would have done...they were kinda cool guys and did cool things....I imagine they were all jumping about like that Kirk Duglas guy "I'm Jesus!"...."No...I'm Jesus!"....that's probably why 3 folk got crucified that day...Ceasar was all hungover and "I can't deal wid dis sheeet...crucify them all!"
Anyway...Jesus never existed...give it up dudes.
