I wanted to write an honest review on this item. So, I took sometime using this in my home gym before I decided to post. I bought bar support pad/wraps from two different sellers, only difference.. the first did not have straps. The first pad was from another company. Their pad had good reviews and was cheaper then this item. So of course.. I bought the cheaper one. Within a week I was ordering from this company. I absolutely love this companies bar pad/wrap!!! The straps help the support pad/wrap to not move and stay in place. Believe me, when you have your bar on your shoulders and going into a lunge, sometimes balance can be an issue... the previous bar warp I bought would slide or allow my bar to roll. The first pad did not help keep my bar stable, meaning, that the support wrap with out straps would work it’s was loose from my bar. If I had to adjust my bar there were times the wrap would come completely off and I’d have to set up up the wrap and bar all over again. This product/ bar pad/wrap DOES stay in place perfectly!! It also protects me when doing any kind of weighted thrust, bridges or shoulder/back exercises. This item is definitely a sold buy. The quality is great. The foam is a thick spongy feel, but not too spongy. My weighted bar never exceeds 100lbs, so that being said, the pressure the bar pushes down on certain parts of the pad/wrap never exceed 100lbs. However, even though I’m not lifting extremely heavy weight with this support wrap, the item is used almost daily and has been since it was purchased. Is a great buy.

If you do hip thrusts/ barbell glute bridges often, go ahead and buy this. Especially if you travel/don't always go to the same gym this is one less thing to worry about having on hand.

Got the red one for pizazz. I’m amazed at the makeup and quality. The foam and its sealed layer are on a level of a much more expensive product. The seller is communicative and definitely encourages the reviews you’re seeing. I jumped at first, because they came across messaging that they “needed” the reviews as a small company. But then I saw there are thousands of five star reviews. Not so needed. I decided to try it out and see. So here’s my non-guilted review: the curve I have to make to accommodate for the thickness, for me, throws off form a bit. And a bit accounts for a lot for me because I have an old neck injury. However, for those without neck injuries, a little bit adds up over time for sure. For me, the extra curving my neck had to do wouldn’t work so I had to transfer the bar lower down my shoulder/back (I see that in some of the pictures people have posted!) This led to a slightly improper form for the wrist. And of course, sitting IT for over a decade, my wrists are going to set off alarms quickly when something isn’t right. For the thickness I’d give it 3 stars, but I didn’t account for that and it was clearly stated and pictured. I am sure they’d handle the issue well as they are good communicators. So 4 instead.

This barbell pad is super comfortable and assists well in focusing on the quality of the reps instead of the discomfort of the bar on your shoulder. I found the reps to be harder because you are able to "feel" your working sets better. It also can be handy for beginners who want to know where to put their hands on the bar for dead lifts - just outside the barbell pad. With a wrist strap/weight lifting glove. Many female lifters will find a lot of comfort and stability with this pad, without hurting their wrists and shoulders in the process. The only thing that can be a bit frustrating is the foam like texture of the pad can be easily scuffed or marked up. Keep the pad separate from the rest of your gym bag or in high traffic areas to keep it nice. I also recommend to keep the straps that come with it to secure the pad to the bar. The last thing you need is to throw your back out because the pad is moving around. Strap it in place and secure it to the bar!!!

My wife and I just recently got back into weight training. After a few sets of squats we both agreed a bar pad would be in our best interest. After a quick search on Amazon I found the Fit Viva Barbell Pad. Now I have to admit, the advertisement photos of the pad being used almost completely sold me on it without even looking at the pad itself... :-) Once I finally started looking at the actual pad and not the advertisement I did notice a few features that stood out from the pads I used years ago. I really liked the idea of the straps securing the pad to the bar as well as the notch cutout for ones neck. The material of the pad also looked pretty soft yet firm.
After going back and viewing the advertisement photos once again I figured I would give it a try. I received the pad in two days and was immediately impressed with its quality. After installing the pad my wife and I gave it a few test squats. I have to say that it surpasses the pads I have used in the past! This is exactly what we were needing. Now to order another for myself since my wife took it for her bar.

Shoulder and neck stress relief

I use a 25 lb flatbar and was doing torso twists with the bar. The bar was digging into my shoulders and the back of my neck. After adding the pad I am no longer getting any pain, so well worth it.

Just be aware that the pad will add a little weight and budge out a bit where you fasten it. Very easy to adjust to it though.

The straps keep the pad secure, you just need to pull them snugly. I also found that making a small loop and slipping the Velcro strap on the bar, makes it easier to position and fasten.

Overall a really good product.
