SGA - With this update, Bungie has nerfed player damage output in Dungeons and Raids by up to 35%

With this update, Bungie has changed the power caps in normal (non-master) dungeons and raids from +20 (over level the enemies by 20 power) to -5 (always locked to 5 power below the enemies). This results in (at base, not accounting for surges - which to be fair, have been added to compensate) a reduction of player damage output by 35%.

At its worst, it's more than a 1/3 nerf to player damage output. Moreso it's also a nerf to survivability, with being locked to -5 below enemies, you'll be taking more damage too. This is a huge spike in difficulty for everything dungeon and raid related. Think triumphs - solo flawless dungeons, flawless raids, raid triumphs, and other achievements like lowmans - those are all more needlessly difficult to do now thanks to this change. For comparison - the well beloved Solo Operative is only +15%, even if that came back now, it's not nearly enough to compensate for this huge nerf.

Bungie has provided at least some form of counter to these changes in adding rotating surges to raids and dungeons. Free 25% damage from just opting to match your subclass and/or weapons to the active surge is great for sure, taking the damage nerf down to ~10%, but is incredibly restrictive in terms of loadout creativity especially in content like raids and dungeons where being forced to use optimal loadouts at the expense of creativity is already a sore point for the community. Additionally, testing has also shown that Bungie has changed health scaling for at least some certain enemies for this content. At the moment there's not enough to draw any conclusions on that side.

Personally, I think this is a horrible change, and should not have been implemented. Don't get me wrong, I am not a casual player crying out about things being too hard - I've soloed/flawlessed dungeons and raids, cleared master raids with challenges, earned all master raid related seals, and done and cleared day 1 raids too.

But not only does this nerf raise the bar for triumphs and other achievements compared to before like I mentioned, but it also raises the entry point and skill level for raiding, making it even more unfriendly to new raiders. It's even more scummy that they've also elected to do this without even making any improvement to loot drops from raids or dungeons to compensate for increasing the difficulty, and that this is the new baseline, giving you no choice to select the older, less restrictive power cap.

Unfortunately the reality is Bungie is unlikely to walk this change back seeing how they doubled down with the similar changes they made to other content during Lightfall, but more people should be aware of this change and how scummy it really is.

TL:DR? In dungeons and raids you now deal ~35% less damage if you don't surge match, ~10% if you do, while also taking more damage, and rewards haven't been buffed to match the difficulty increase.

They were right this game has overpowered weapons.

They are just in the Hands of the Enemies. I swear, the rocket and heavy devastator weapons are insane. Fires from across the map, one has insane accuracy, fire rate, no recoil. The other has infinite rockets, fires in Salvos. Both of them have insanely short reload times.

The Heavy devastator can sometimes even fire through cover. Truly OP. 2 Rocket Devastators can fire in sync and rag doll you so you never get to play the game.

Stop worrying about being over leveled for the dlc.

That’s it. Even if you are. You act like this game is a breeze if you are slightly over leveled. Being over leveled just means I can take 1-2 extra hits per boss max. You guys are acting like if you’re level 200 the dlc is gonna be a cake walk because they said around 150. This is Elden ring we’re talking about. Being around 150 means you are probably gonna be getting your ass whooped by these bosses.

This dlc is gonna be great no matter what level you guys are (excluding the 500+ people)

This is the biggest narrative moment in Destiny history, and most people are erroring out of every other cutscene.

I was wondering why the pacing felt so weird until I realized I had missed 2 entire cutscenes and had to look them up. Datto had the same experience, and many others did too. Like I understand and sympathize with server instability, but it feels so bad for the story experience to be harmed this much. I don't remember this being that much of an issue with previous expansions.

I am lodging a legal complaint against EA with the European Commission.

I was falsely banned from Apex Legends for "cheating" in March 2024. I have been playing the game since its release day, accumulating 3500 hours of gameplay and spending over $1700. I have always played legitimately and have never violated the TOS. Convinced that my ban was a mistake, I contested my ban on the dedicated page of the EA website. Each appeal is not handled by a human, and I receive completely automated responses stating that the sanction will not be lifted. It is impossible to get human contact or any technical support for my issue.

After spending so much time and money, my account is simply taken away without valid reason and without possible recourse.

Last week, I decided to file a legal complaint with the European Commission against Electronic Arts, demanding either the total unbanning of my account or a refund of the purchases made on Apex Legends (about $1700).

EA now has 24 days to respond to the complaint. I will update this post as I know I am not the only one who has lost their account under similar circumstances.
