What are movies that definitely would not get made today?
Movies that would not work in today’s... unique climate.
For example, Mrs. Doubtfire. I feel like a movie about a guy dressing up as an old lady to secretly break his custody agreement is a little risky
Coneheads depiction of an Immigrant French family is just despicable
And Soul Man is well ya know...
But yeah I always find it interesting seeing trends through the years in Hollywood and was wondering what other movies have become kinda dated in recent years.
Edit: and why it couldn’t get made today.
Fight Club would basically be impossible post 9/11.
Plenty of movies have featured tall buildings getting knocked over since 9/11.
Hell even Transformers a film aimed at kids had a whole set piece about it.
