I bought this primarily because I like listening to music in the evenings and my old speaker finally gave out on me. We have an older version of this Echo at work and we use it for music during the day. The sound quality is very good so I thought... why not? I bought the Echo and am very impressed with the sound quality plus I have the luxury of being able to ask Alexa about the weather, checking up on my schedule and other things.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It does everything I want and more.

I got this for a very low price. It was almost the same price as an Echo dot. For the money nothing can beat it. Realistically, it is not as good as the new echo with premium sound but for the price there is nothing out there!
If you need a speaker that sounds good and has great Alexa integration look no further!

This is my third one so that should say something. No it's not a Sonos but either is it's price. No it won't blast you out of the house, but linked together with its brothers and sisters it provides nice clear music for back round. After all these years you would think that Amazon could/would come up with additional wake up names or let you program them on the Alexa App. Amazon people, if you want to sell more stuff, give us more names.
I gave this only 4 stars because it wouldn't automatically connect to the sever and Amazon Help was No help.

Alexa is being used primarily to control a bedside light. No fumbling for the remote to turn the light on or off. Alexa does it upon request because the light is plugged into a Wi-Fi plug (also purchased from Amazon) that has Alexa connectivity. When ready to turn the light on or off, just let Alexa do it and it responds with a polite "OK". Want Alexa to play music? Just ask. Wondering about the outside weather? Just ask. Want to hear some news? Alexa is there for you. Easy to set up with a phone app that then serves as an extension to Alexa. Works great and is more than just fun, it is also functional - highly recommend Alexa!

Wow. Another hint that my 'Golden years' are going to be great fun! I have only scratched its capabilities (had it for 2 weeks), but I'm already hooked just on the music feature. Asked it to play King Crimson from Spotify and bingo! Bought a second unit once I found out you could synchronize. Can't describe the feeling of 'play Mozart everywhere'....and you start hearing music everywhere.
Set up is easy and it just plugs and plays. Voice recognition is pretty amazing, and sound quality is above what you expect from a $100 speaker.

Must emphasize that the 'cableless' nature is awesome, as you can place it anywhere near a power socket.
