About us

At KVC Health Systems, our 2,400 caring team members work every day to strengthen families, prevent child abuse and neglect, and help both children and adults achieve mental wellness. We all need connection! And at KVC, our employees are our greatest asset and strength, helping the people we serve experience the power of connection to themselves, their family and friends, and to professionals who can help them thrive. We're working toward a bold vision: a world in which every person is SAFE and CONNECTED to a strong family and a healthy community. No more child abuse and neglect. No more untreated mental illness or addiction. Parents no longer pass down the cycles of violence, substance use or trauma that they experienced as children. Instead, families have the skills and supportive connections they need to thrive. Every individual has unlimited possibilities and can reach their full potential. This is why the KVC team comes to work every day, providing family strengthening services, mental and behavioral healthcare, foster care, adoption and inpatient children’s mental health treatment. People are facing serious challenges, and community needs are greater than ever. Will you join us? Since 1970, KVC has grown from a single home for at-risk children to a national organization serving over 80,000 children and families each year in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Kentucky and West Virginia. KVC also provides training and consultation around the world. We're a family of private, nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations committed to enriching and enhancing the lives of children and families. Let's give a big shoutout to Teri Wolfe, Lead Cook at KVC Missouri's Springfield campus! 💚 Her unwavering compassion and dedication to the youth we serve truly stand out each and every day!✨ Maggie Bell, Director of Operations, had this to say about Teri: "Teri has shown that she is a shining star through varying interactions I’ve had with her. Teri always has a smile on her face. She has always gone out of her way to make sure we have everything we need for our clients. You would never know if she was having a bad day because she is always so kind. She genuinely cares for the kids and all KVC staff." Strengthening families prevents child abuse. Trauma often repeats itself through generations. But with learned coping and resiliency skills, necessary substance treatment, counseling/therapy, financial guidance, employment resources, and other trauma-informed support that ensures a family’s needs are met, families can begin healing their generational trauma and break the cycle. Keep connected with KVC! Check out some highlights from our teams across the Midwest: 💙During last week's Missouri Alliance for Children and Families Conference, one of our KVC Missouri Foster Care Case Management (FCCM) team was honored to receive the Bright Spot award for achieving the highest percentage of relative placements for the upcoming 2022–2023 contract year! Thank you to the FCCM teams for all that you do, your efforts are truly valued. 💙KVC Nebraska hosted their 2024 Resource Family Conference. An amazing group of resource families, individuals, youth and community members gathered for a weekend of learning, bonding and unforgettable fun! The event featured insightful speakers, engaging workshops, heartwarming connections and laughter-filled activities. 💙KVC Kentucky's leadership team recently participated in the Pinwheel Planting event organized by Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky at the Kentucky State Capitol. They were joined by Governor and First Lady Beshear, Lt. Governor Coleman, leaders from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and numerous other partners dedicated to prevention efforts. The planting of 4,000 pinwheels symbolizes the 12 children born in Kentucky last year per pinwheel, serving as a poignant reminder that every child in Kentucky deserves a safe and nurturing environment to thrive. 💙Over at Camber, maintenance man John Hageman, is always doing things to boost morale. Every holiday you will find him dressed up and ready to cheer up the staff and kiddos and hand out goodies. Easter weekend, he spread joy by dressing up as the Easter Bunny and giving everyone treats! If you'd like to belong to a close-knit team and feel the deep sense of meaning that comes from providing life-changing help to children and families, check out our current career opportunities at https://bit.ly/3JbUDKj.
