Major League Baseball is coming to Sahlen Field, but significant work needs to be done before the Toronto Blue Jays can play here.
Here are the major needs to get the ballpark ready for the big leagues:
* Upgrade stadium lighting for Major League Baseball field and television specifications, changing to stronger LED bulbs in existing towers and adding portable lights.
* Provide clubhouse facilities for Blue Jays and visitors, using combination of existing rooms and temporary builds that could possibly include stadium suites.
* Repurpose existing clubhouses, weight room and training rooms to promote social distancing.
* Construct additional batting cages/training areas, likely in stadium concourses.
* Build auxiliary dugout spaces to supplement existing dugouts for social distancing.
